Beautiful work by James Ravilious, a master of composition and tonal balance. I enjoyed the film, but leaving out some of the repeated images and holding the others a fraction longer would have been more useful, allowing one a better opportunity to study and appreciate his skill. His wife Robin’s biography of the man is perhaps one of the most beautifully written books I’ve ever encountered.
