I personally think that Vaegirs territory is the best for starting zone. You have Tundra bandits, and sea raiders witch have good weapons and armor that you can use for your character, and yield most amount of experience (good for fast leveling). If you can afford recruiting some cavalry, early on, from the taverns, is ideal. Just fight some matches in the arena at the start of the game, and you should have sufficient money for them. Cavalry is essential to have at the start, against tundra bandits, witch in my opinion, are the best missile bandits on the map. Vaegis territory is also good for trading. After one week or two the prices will drop and you can get: ... cheap IRON (about 100 denars) from CURAW and surrounding villages ... cheap RAW SILK (about 200-250 denars) from RIVACHEG and surrounding villages ... cheap SMOKED FISH from all seaside locations, and sell them 4 times higher in towns that are not by the seaside. This is the way I got money very fast, and leveled very easy, from the start of the game ... GOOD LUCK!
This is of course a personal preference but the nords lowest tier troops are by far the once with some of the best stats in the game so going with that faction i feel like would be good, plus you still are very close to the sea-raiders who drop insainly good gear at the start of the game and even though it's mostly chest pieces and weapons you can still sell it for a very good price (y)
Razing villages is an amazing source of income, probably the best in the game. There is an honour loss, but you can make up for that eventually by fighting your faction's enemies. Just make sure you plunder a limited set of villages, as you won't be able to recruit from them after they make up a negative opinion of you. Plundering can net you 100k with only a few minutes' work, so it is worth it. Just do it with care.
I usually take a town on my own, like Veluca and then go offer vassalage to another kingdom. This way I start off as a lord with a town and five villages
3 months late but this happens to me every time I want to be king I take a city like suno and then some random kingdom declares war on me and then once their at my gates I usually just join them...in order to keep my town but I dont like be a vassal cuz I've done it a few times .... I've never been king due to this reason any tips.....I've already tried hiring men but mid way through the process their starting a siege
You shouldve added that if you kill the leader of an enemy party in battle there troops will not hold formation and will charge the second they spawn helps if you are out numbered
I think I figured out why I can never hold a moderately sized army, I dont have factories, which would explain why when starting in the game I go through the cycle of small army -> medium sized army -> fights large army -> flees leaving people behind or everyone dies -> repeat 2-3 times ->no army -> no money -> starts from beginning
What I do when I want to become a king is take a castle or city then ask to be lord of it if the king says no there's an option to take your fiefs(except villages) and become a king but you will be at war instantly with the faction you once served
Will still state that even though raiding villages gives an immensly good income, it affects the relation with the lord who owns the village and makes it therefore more likely for him to go and raid your village afterwards, so when you do so, be prepared that he will try that ;)
Turya Sauros Rhodoks has strong spear men; they are good against cavalry. An they can hold the line fairly well with their big infantry shields. While they don't have the best armor they typically have more health and better shields. As for archers I don't like the vaygars. Sure they bring a lot of ammo with them but their not that accurate compared to the sarranids or the khans.
I honestly had so much success by paying loads of money for hired blades - they just seem to destroy most units. If you have the money, they are very easy to get hold of and will be effective.
Jarl Turya is actually our new Marshall. It was Jarl Knudarr, but they randomly switched? Which sucks because I was getting in good with Knudarr’s daughter, Gudrun lol oh well

Now I'm a vassal without a fief or income, what do i do?
Danil ouch, that's some really bad luck. All I can recommend is getting enterprises going for side income and be a part of as many castle battles as you can (wouldn't hurt to raise your relationship with the king as well). Since you have no fiefs currently you're more likely to be awarded one by the king
To make the tutorial series easier to do in a short period of real life time I cheated. Definitely don't think you could progress quite that fast legit
I actually do have a question if you have time!can you take a castle as factionless and then become vassal until you have a chance to build up your Garrison and then leave and keep your castle since it was yours before you became a vassal?
It's been a while but if I remember correctly when I tried that all of my castles/villages became the factions and the only one I got to keep is whatever the leader chooses to give you. So if you go in with 5 castles and as a "gift" for becoming a vassal all you get is a village. Should you decide to leave all you will have is a village as the King will give away your property to his other vassals. So long story short I would advise against that. Unless you're just trying to make a faction stronger without angering the king for being a warmonger.
I thought I had mentioned this before but I made this series purely for tutorial and recorded all of it in about 3 days. The only way I could showcase what I wanted to in that time would be to cheat. If you want a longer more comprehensive playthrough of the game there are lots of youtubers that have legitly completed being a king.
If you're playing on easy, a decent army of any faction's elite troops will defeat another faction's army. Every faction can look weak if you're using mostly elite troops from another faction
30-50 of arguably the best cavalry in the game verses an army of INFANTRY with NO pikes or spears. No shit sherlock they don't suck you're literally attacking their Achilles heel

I found when a nord village is taken over the faction that village produces thereafter is changed. Only happened with nord villages.

It's a cheat, if you go into the options of m&b you can enable cheats and one of the many built into the game is teleportation
