I mean for historical reason it’s hard for Chinese fan to cheer for a Japanese player in Nanjing😅. Also at that time Momota just came back from suspension and not that many people appreciated him. Things changed a lot when he came to Guangzhou for super series final in 2019 - a lot of Chinese fan actually cheered for Momota in the final.

It really hasn't sunk in for me that this is really Kento Momota's final international tournament. I thought we would get to see at least 5 more years of 2019 Kento Momota. It hurt to follow Lee Yong Dae's "last" international tournament back in 2016 when he was 28, but it hurts every time I realise that this is Momota's last international tournament.
