Don't listen to this guy, requesting for top tier cards are 100% a good way to go about making a strong team, just make sure that you have good packs to trade for them. In my experience, new player picks or guaranteed new cards are very valuable to people who have almost 100% collection, and they will trade top tier cards for those packs.
