Simply Smashed is an excellent place ماشاء الله and the owners definitely have their priorities in place allahumma baarik. May Allah grant them only more success in this world and grant them success in the next world. Ameen! The food there is brilliant, the environment is good, I highly recommend it for anyone living in/visiting London! JazaakAllahu khayra for sharing on this episode, bro

I’m from East London, simply smashed is the exact environment needed for young Muslim brothers and sisters. The owners are my neighbours, quality people known them for more than 10 years.
    May Allah bless them

And on the authority of Wabisah bin Ma’bad (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: I came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “You have come to ask about righteousness.” I said, “Yes.” He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “Consult your heart. Righteousness is that about which the soul feels at ease and the heart feels tranquil. And wrongdoing is that which wavers in the soul and causes uneasiness in the breast, even though people have repeatedly given their legal opinion [in its favour].”

29 minute podcast? On FG? Seriously? with a 5 minute ad in the beginning? Nah akhi, FG needs to return back to 2017 times style.

Is there wrong with making revenue with ads? Besides the haram content that may occasionally come up with them (which they can purify using sadaqa).

I have no problem with ads in the beginning. I have a problem with the content being so short, that it no longer stays a podcast but rather turns into a generic youtube video. This is not the Freshly Grounded we know from 2017.
If the ads were even 30 minutes long, I would have no problem, sometimes I even like listening to them, but atleast make sure the content remains significantly larger than the ads. The content should also have some value, or else why should anyone listen to them in the first place?
Btw, by the ads, I mean Sponsors, not the literal TH-cam Ads. I believe they are haram, but ofcourse there are ways to block certain haram ads. I don't know because I am now using YT Premium and I don't see any TH-cam Ads. But remember, I was talknig about Sponsor Segements.

The short videos aren’t the best, honestly one video a week wasn’t enough and now it’s 30 mins a week.
I really supported the push for halaal conversation, especially for those that aren’t around many Muslims brothers / sisters, or aren’t close to many masaajid.
But at the end of the day whatever we want from content it may be different from what the brothers intend behind freshly grounded. They have their lives etc.
If anyone knows any Muslim podcasts similar though, let me know…

Purifying ones wealth with sadaqa is for those who accumulated revenue from haram before they were Muslim or became practicing Muslims consciouss of their duties.
Knowingly making money from haram and then doing sadaqa is not something you should be advocating.
