This just popped up! More than a year old..Can I ask if for 21,22,23 and so on it is Sao-et,Sao-song,Sao-sam and so on?.........My wife's village also in Issan...but for 20, yee-sip is shortened to Yip....so they count Yip-et,Yip-song,Yip-sam and so on....
You make it sound so easy so I actually can try this! It´s so good you also say every sentence in Central Thai as well. I just love it when I hear Isaan language, especially when my mother talks with her friends. Sometimes the Image of the Jawas from the Star Wars movies pops up in my head. Of course, it doesn't sound alike at all but it´s cute all the same.
@@LearnThaiwithShelby The Jawas is about me being happy and confused as I am sitting on the floor at my mother's house and the conversations are coming from all directions. Compared to me they are small and always dressed in beautiful skirts which makes it even cuter when they do things together like picking bananas from a tree, moving around, and speaking Isaan
One more interesting Video.......Can you reply here on the different tones that are used while pronouncing the numbers in Isaan.....Particularly for 4, 9, 10 and 20 what you mentioned in the Video......I take notes and write down the Thai scripts and if I have the information on tones to be used for pronouncing numbers in Isaan, the content will be complete.....It is all for my learning Khun Khru Shelby.....Thank you in advance....
Kannan V They sound very similar, that’s why I didn’t add any. Isaan is a dialect. There is no alphabet used for its written language. So even if I write it using Thai, there is no way that it’ll show the exact tones and pronunciation that Isaan has. You might spell in your own way from what you heard.

@@LearnThaiwithShelby Issan is a Lao language. It is influence by Laos. The Issan people have Lao blood. They are not related to the ethnic Thai people. The ethnic Thai people are Siamese. That's why the country is called Thailand or Siam.
@@LaoSoftware Thai ppl are Mon ppl. I'm from Isaan, our blood is Kuy. There are some with Lao, for sure - same as Khmer. Isaan (Thailand) has been separated from Laos for long enough the generational and genealogical differences. Among the different ethnicities living around - around 30 ethnicities in Thailand alone. Language is very similar. Laos used to be part of Siam until the French took the land, WWII we tried to reclaim. Lao and Isaan were together/one large entity until the border split.

I’m not sure if you meant the word นะ, if so yes. We use it quite often. I’ve made a video about this on my channel.

Actually, yip ed, sip song and so on is central Thai but it's okay to use in Isaan. Sao-ed is real Isaan.

Before Siam took control of Laos, issan was part of Lan Xang first. Technically is Lao people before becoming Thai 😂
