What an amazing powerful episode, to highlight something ongoing. Great acting by both Actor's. I loved the end bit thou, in which they weren't going to leave the square. Let's hope the Pastor gets his comeuppance! Still, he does play a great part, despite being a "Nice" villain.
Looks like Elaine has really stepped up to the mark as well. Supporting Yolande through this. Without Elaine poor Yolande would've gone totally under 😢😢
When the actress who plays Yolande in Eastenders (Angela Wynter) arrived in the soap in 2003,I always thought that Angela as an actress would over-act the character of Yolande in Eastenders. I would sometimes laugh at her character of Yolande, especially when she was angry. Her character in the early days also seemed to be not fashionable for the times of the early noughties. She did though have some very interesting storylines though. I think that same kind of procedure could be applied to Rudolph Walker's portrayal of Patrick Truman, though not necessarily as harshly as Angela's portrayal of her character. For example...the way Patrick Truman has always seemed to say' Yeah Man!'...'Yeah Man!', when ever Patrick truly agrees with any situation, seems to be really unnecessary, especially as we are living in times where Black Characters in British Television Drama do not have to be so pronounced in acting, as they were in earlier days of British Television Drama and Comedy programs. The truth about Angela and Rudolph's portrayals of Yolande and Patrick Truman in Eastenders though, are that they are truly the only honest portrayals of Caribbean characterisation and intellect in British Television Drama today. Their portrayals are an honest depiction of Carribbean characterisation and intellect that we have all recognised for decades. Rudolph Walker as an actor is forced to say 'Yeah Man...Yeah Man' because he is truly the only Carribean character of true authenticity on British Television. He's not just saying these lines as a catchphrase, they are a true cultural flag banner of Black-Caribbean representation for British Television Drama. His contribution here, with just that catchphrase, is that important for the British nation, in the representation of Caribbean character of our Nation. Yolande as a character would drift in and out of Eastenders during the decades. My views of her even in these periods did not change, I always thought the part of Yolande was over-acted and she never seemed to be fashionable with what she was wearing, whether in hair, clothes or makeup. I think in the storyline, Patrick and Yolande relationship brokedown and Yolande ended by leaving the Square and Angela left Eastenders. Yolande was not seen in Eastenders for a very long period. In Patrick's storyline, he went to live in Trinidad for a period of time, and while over there, met with Yolande and the romance between them was rekindled. But something troublesome happened over there, so Patrick returned back to the square, and Yolande followed at a later stage. So that is where we are now with Yolande's character. I am so gloriously happy that not only has Angela Wynter returned back to Eastenders playing Yolande, but also I believe...she is playing the character now, better than she had done previously. Angela's acting has got even better with the passing of time. I think she also looks better than she had been portrayed in the soap previously. This Caribbean woman character is truly more fashionable now, than she was previously in the soap. I have been incredibly moved by Angela's portrayal in Eastenders, of a Carribbean woman, who has been sexually abused. Her performances here has truly moved me to tears. I also think that Rudolph Walker in his portrayal of Patrick Truman, has possibly done some of the finest acting in his Television career, as part of this sexual abuse storyline in Eastenders. His support characterisation of Patrick Truman for Yolande, has also moved me to tears as well. In fact....I will be honest here and say that every black actor who has been part of this storyline, has done some of the most moving acting of their television drama careers , as part of this storyline, of the sexual abuse of Yolande Truman. I just hope that a special television drama award can be given to Angela Wynter and Rudolph Walker, for the incredible acting that was done here in the storyline of the sexual abuse of Yolande Truman. I also hope this storyline can be used around the country for any Black-British groups that look after the affairs of Black women, that have been sexually abused in their lives. Welldone Eastenders for such an incredible and very moving storyline.

@@blakekelly1839I think what I have also noticed in Eastenders ( and Coronation Street has been able to do this for several years as well); is in the way these Soaps work with Black Actors in showing a real ( normal) reality to life in Drama. Thank GOD we are getting a break from Stacey and her clan at the moment though Although that may sound sexiest or whatever , the writing in Eastenders has been sooo over the top Female focussed its as if we have went back 5 years to all that girl power nonsense . I was more shocked at the Anti Abortion storyline with a 12 year old pregnant. And the fact her mother and female relatives barely even challenged her decision to have it or tried to make her see sense and abort. All the men were gaslighted and shamed for not wanting her to have the baby.
I agree with you that no 12 year old should be having a baby. I think the angle they were trying to go for was that no one should be forced into a decision one way or the other. Also, shock value I suppose
