What a fabulous race. Able to generate excitement 30 odd years later. I remember seeing Duffy Collard and George Polley race with Barry Lee at Wimbledon in the mid 70's when I was a nipper. Sister and brother in law took me. Was great and as they had a converted comma van I could sleep on the way home to Kent :) Very happy memories :)
Fantastic race! That was wat hot rod racing was all about! Just count myself very lucky I saw a lot of it in person it just ain't like that anymore that's for sure!!
best stock car track ever and yes that was bill dally and the great roy kings breakdown truck he used to power slide it after the heats to clear the track and always had his border colly dog with him those were great days i used to get bus there from torquay if there were holdups during the meetings end up walking home or sometimes thumb a lift with martin lawrence
