Hi, so myeloma cells are immortal cells( meaning no death for them), they are cancerous plasma cells and they closely resemble to mouse B cells hence they are compatible for fusion. But myeloma cells have the capacity to produce their own antibodies , inorder to stop that we genetically modify these cells , so that they doesnt produce any antibodies against the desired one

Sir, you had told that antibodies are produced from the spleen of the rat but spleen is also called as grave yard in body as it destroys the old red blood cells.so,how it will produce antibodies other than lymphatic system?

Hi frnd..Actually secondary lymphoid organ includes spleen also...It is there where the antigens are exposed to mature lymphocytes..And these lymphocytes in spleen will produce antibodies against them...😊
