As a kid who was 13-14 years old at the time, the impression I was always left with from listening to their music, or interviews on MTV/BET was that Bad Boy was scared of Death Row in general. Tupac was definitely more vocal, and obvious with his beef towards BIG and Bad Boy, than Biggie was towards him. Puffy Daddy sure as shit didn't want beef with Suge and Pac. At least it didn't look like it. It looked like Puffy Daddy didn't want this beef, but it was forced on him, and he would try responding to save face, but in a way to not go too far for fear of repercussions. I'm just saying that's how it looked to me, and I was just some white boy growing up in Hampton, VA, with no bias towards either NYC or LA.

Hey would anyone know why E-40 back tracked on what he did to biggie in Sacramento? It was in the documentary Notorious Big life after death. Bigs road manager speaks on it, 40 talks about but now he denied it happened. He booked big in Sacramento, nobody hardly showed up, people who where there started throwing coins at big as he performed. Afterwards when big was going out to his limo a group of dudes approached big with some guns but his manager already put big in his limo. The dudes didn't stop and were trying to get at big and supposedly the manager told one of the dudes to get the person on the phone that had the problem with big and it was 40. The whole thing started because big was interviewed by a magazine and asked if 40 was a top rapper, big said, who? Dont know him. 40 took offense. But now 40 says it never happened. But its on a documentary and 40 is in the doc speaking about it. I remember when it happened because it was in sac and not that far from where i lived at the time, people were warned not to go to the show.

I believe that it was a picture. Gene Deal , like anyone is off base sometimes, but he said that Kurt Burrows had the magazine and Wolf showed it to Diddy. I don't know the magazine business but I would imagine that maybe they sent an approval to Bad Boy before they released it and Puffy put a stop to it.
