I didn't understand why vivek or the director didn't get appreciation for this movie. really enjoyed this movie when it was released, sanjay gadhvi was the action director who directed the first dhoom movie and sachin's music with atif aslam's voice was breathtakingly beautiful...this movie could have been a classic if it starred a so called bollywood superstar....this movie is just another example how indian audience doesn't appreciate good and experimental cinema....a sci-fi movie in bollywood 11 years ago was a huge risk although i'm glad that i'm one of those who watched it in cinema and supported it.

If people had double standards then movies like Robot 1 and 2, Bahubali, RaOne, Krish etc would have been hit movies, even though those movies have lots of impossible things they at least explain most of those with the hero having superpower and show why he has those too. This movie does shit and explains nothing. No wonder it was a flop.

I agree that commercial movies have next to none original content but if you look other than the bollywood crap, you'll find amazing works. The fifties were the golden era for Indian movies, not bollywood. Bollywood is a propaganda something mainstream commercial movie makers came up with. Even Marathi movies are not bollywood movies even tho they share the 'bolly' of 'Bombay'. Ray's work is credited to the Bengali film industry not bollywood. Pyaasa and kakaz ke phool are credited as hindi movies not bollywood movies. There's a difference between that. Even today you'll find movies like Lipstick under my burkha for every veere de wedding, Lunch box for every coolie no1, Tumbaad, super delux and black friday, rang de basanti and lagaan. I agree that majority of the films made in India is utter crap but you have some gems. One only got to step away from the commercial crap and let the good ones roll in.
