I'm going after the folks who got into the series primarily through DBZ and didn't realize that Dragon Ball originally started out as a wacky world-trekking adventure (which GT tried to go back to, even if it wasn't perfect). I'm just joshing the folks who were begging for an adaption of the Moro/Granolah arcs and got something they weren't expecting instead. Toriyama-sensei has outright said in interviews that he doesn't usually have a plan when it comes to his stories, so he just sorta wings it. That's always worked for him, and I trust that he knew what he was doing with this.

It’s because of you I’m here… Many anime fans have their own opinion of Dragon Ball the series, but one huge fact about it stands, and that is it helped inspire many and opened the floodgates for all anime when it came out to the west coast of the world and in Japan. Dragon Ball Z is the show that got me and so many others into anime as a whole, it helped inspire other anime creators, countless references appear in other anime shows even to this day despite how old the show is. Words can’t express how much I love it and it was all because of one man. Thank you for everything Akira Toriyama, you changed the life’s of many including mine forever. I’ve been a fan of Dragon Ball ever since I was a kid and I’ll always be a fan. A Legend leaves us but his legacy will always live on strong as it has been since its first time airing.
The intro gives me cold chills. The journey Akira Toriyama gave us was unlike anything ever before in any media. These years were landmarks in the history of anime that we grew up, and others not even born will get to enjoy in the future to come. They thought. and western world finally broadcast on tv for fck sakes! 10yrs after I watched some episodes it with my cousins in Asia when traveled their on holidays. no internet wasn't fast or standard for those asking. and illegal to watch and a pain to find and download. Like north korean watching south korean drama, but for teenage kids on western soil. Those were the times of hardship for only watching Dragonball.😔 RIP
Toriyama was involved a lot more in the creation of this series than he was with Super. He was exciting to work closely on DB again. So sad to hear today that he's passed away... I hope this series will do his legacy justice

1984....this franchise is 5 years older than I am and is still incredibly popular and making new stuff. Even became the highest rated show on all of cable tv once in the early 2000s. Very impressive

The animation is incredible, it was not what I expected but it is curious, I hope after Dragon Ball Daima we have the adaptation of the Super Manga and without censorship, it is worth dreaming.

Looks a bit like the art style on the Broly movie but even more exaggerated. Honmestly just in terms of animation this is a win if this is the level of quality we can expect (compared to the first half of Super which was really bad). The only people who dislike it are edgy teenagers who started with dbs. If you grew up with dragon ball in the late 90s early 2000s, daima seems perfect because it's pretty much the original dragon ball on steroids. That's why they show the timeline in the trailer. It's obviously for people who were following the franchise from the beginning.

I was really hoping for a return of the Super Broly art style, as I think that is hands down the best that DB has ever looked. But that shot in Korin tower is absolutely stunning.

I love the fact that the animation is very rounded and similar to the old style of the original Dragon Ball show while having the aspects that Dragon Ball Z and Super had in the way that it seems like it will develop more that the OG Dragon Ball series did.

if using 3d and 2D would solve "consistency" and efficiency issue with animation, then I'm in for it. Its always been a problem if a long series gets passed around in different studios and quality is like a rollercoaster.
Never made sense. The show is so popular why force a production schedule and use so many studios. Other animes look super consistent and dragon ball never has.
@@csciabar Outsourcing to different studios is just part and parcel of anime production and has been since the 60's. The truth is creating an anime is a massive task, let alone producing multiple shows at once and many studios simply don't have the manpower/resources to do so.

Looks like Toriyama returning to his roots. I love his sense of humor, charm and adventure, and this looks to be exactly that. I am confident this is just the beginning to something greater for the series, but as someone who has og Dragon Ball as his favorite tv show of all time, and Dr. Slump amongst my favorite manga ever, I couldn't be more stoked.

Definitely a Makaioshin / demon that has something to do with Daburah and Babidi. They're wearing similar capes as the demon king and the one antagonist has a similar mohawk type style hair to that of a Kaioshin hence it's an evil counterpart. So forever wanted to see what the Makaioshin are in Akira Toriyama's Dragon Ball, this seems to be their first official introduction. I'm going to assume the reddish landscape is no doubt the Demon Realm. I also have no doubt we are going to get more insight toward Daburah, Babidi and possibly even Bibidi. Should be interesting.

Sure, turning them to kids is kinda weird, but who cares, we know they will be turned back by end of Z (unlike how GT writers made Goku STAY a kid for some reason). Doesn't even make any sense. Everyone's turning into ~10-year-old kids regardless of actual age. Goku and Vegeta and Krillin are in their 50's. Piccolo is like 30. Bulma is like 20 because she keeps wishing herself younger. Ox King has to be in his 70's. Shin and Kibito are *millions*.
There seems like the anime will be a conmemorate to Dragon Ball, so i think they are kids in the series and they have to solve the problem to get back to normal. And that probably will be the story
A more adventure style of DragonBall seems like it could be good fun and a nice departure from the typical "This guy is stronger than anyone we've faced before" formula. Sprinkle some fights in here and there and make Goku a character to be loved again.
One thing I love about anime is that they always keep the old art style when it comes to old episode flashbacks it just reminds you of the art evolution from beginning to present it’s incredible!
I mean I really do prefer the older drawing styles... everything's always so shiny in the modern styles and I don't like that very much. Still enjoy it though, so bring on this DBGT 2 lol, could be fun!
We all pray we're alive by the time Moro and Granolah arc gets animated. Although this isn't exactly what most of us wants, but this is something we should take and just enjoy it. I'm curious to how this new story will unfold.

Tien was human the reason he faded out was because everyone was getting stronger in the power scale he no longer was good enough but that's actually a major role in the show because tien is not weak so it's to show the power scale of things as the show progressed
Problem is, Tien works as a Straight Man foil. Vegeta already does it. So, while you can have Yamcha and to some extent Krillin, do the joke--y thing with Goku when Goku's in the middle of a serious fight, having Tien gives a bit of bloat to the cast, which I already thing is bloated enough. Like, why is Ox-King there? I can see Hercule being there, the jokes about the World Champion being that small write themselves.

The way I see it, every time there has been a threat to the planet (or even the universe) all the Z fighters have been there to help regardless of being outclassed by the villain. This is the same character that tried to take on Cell and Buu. It just seems out of character for him to not at the least be present.

Toriyama was involved a lot more in the creation of this series than he was with Super. He was exciting to work closely on DB again. So sad to hear today that he's passed away... I hope this series will do his legacy justice

The only people who dislike it are edgy teenagers who started with dbs. If you grew up with dragon ball in the late 90s early 2000s, daima seems perfect because it's pretty much the original dragon ball on steroids. That's why they show the timeline in the trailer. It's obviously for people who were following the franchise from the beginning.

I love the fact that the animation is very rounded and similar to the old style of the original Dragon Ball show while having the aspects that Dragon Ball Z and Super had in the way that it seems like it will develop more that the OG Dragon Ball series did.

if using 3d and 2D would solve "consistency" and efficiency issue with animation, then I'm in for it. Its always been a problem if a long series gets passed around in different studios and quality is like a rollercoaster.

Looks like Toriyama returning to his roots. I love his sense of humor, charm and adventure, and this looks to be exactly that. I am confident this is just the beginning to something greater for the series, but as someone who has og Dragon Ball as his favorite tv show of all time, and Dr. Slump amongst my favorite manga ever, I couldn't be more stoked.

Definitely a Makaioshin / demon that has something to do with Daburah and Babidi. They're wearing similar capes as the demon king and the one antagonist has a similar mohawk type style hair to that of a Kaioshin hence it's an evil counterpart. So forever wanted to see what the Makaioshin are in Akira Toriyama's Dragon Ball, this seems to be their first official introduction. I'm going to assume the reddish landscape is no doubt the Demon Realm. I also have no doubt we are going to get more insight toward Daburah, Babidi and possibly even Bibidi. Should be interesting.

This was leaked a while back as well, whcih is why I'm confused about why everyone is focusing on the cast getting turned into kids, instead of the hype that is the offical introduction of Maikaioshins and the demon realm. Sure, turning them to kids is kinda weird, but who cares, we know they will be turned back by end of Z (unlike how GT writers made Goku STAY a kid for some reason). This show is really just an excuse to introduce the demon realm finally, and I'm all here for it.
Looking at the staff, I was thinking the demon types of Towa, not necessarily the same as Babidi. Idk much about it yet, but I get the feeling it's more of a Toyotarou story

Tien was human the reason he faded out was because everyone was getting stronger in the power scale he no longer was good enough but that's actually a major role in the show because tien is not weak so it's to show the power scale of things as the show progressed

Problem is, Tien works as a Straight Man foil. Vegeta already does it. So, while you can have Yamcha and to some extent Krillin, do the joke--y thing with Goku when Goku's in the middle of a serious fight, having Tien gives a bit of bloat to the cast, which I already thing is bloated enough. Like, why is Ox-King there? I can see Hercule being there, the jokes about the World Champion being that small write themselves.

The way I see it, every time there has been a threat to the planet (or even the universe) all the Z fighters have been there to help regardless of being outclassed by the villain. This is the same character that tried to take on Cell and Buu. It just seems out of character for him to not at the least be present.

This seems like Toriyama’s love letter to the entire series he spawned, from OG to GT to super. Even though I don’t have strong feelings for this I got a feeling this will be fun as he clearly is putting a lot of his passion into this.
