I will say this about Fat Joe: He’s wrong for all this current stuff going on BUT dude ain’t a punk. 1995 when he was promoting his 2nd album Jealous Ones Envy I met him (and Armageddon) at a record store in Chicago and we chopped it up, he was a cool dude back then, later that same evening he showed up at one of the open mic clubs we had in the city called The Spot and he remembered me from earlier that day. I know the Bronx pretty well so we had built somewhat of a rapport and I was there with a crew member of mine who had lived in Brooklyn once so Joe was happy to be talking with Chicagoans who knew his town. A few minutes later my homie Malik tried to jump on the stage and rock but the host was on BS and pushed him off, the inevitable happened and we were squaring off to fight and someone touched my shoulder, I spun around and it was Joe and Armageddon taking off their coats and handing them to Joe’s girl. He loudly said that he had our backs if it was going down and since the famous rapper was on our side the host and his boys fell back. I met him again in 2005 and he remembered that incident. He didn’t actually throw hands but he was ready and willing…for a couple strangers.
