Monique Tillery if he hadn’t hired Jason he’d be dead. Jason basically runs this operation while sonny soaks up all the perks. There’s a reason why every time Jason disappeared whether he was traveling or presumed dead sonny always ends up nearly losing his territory and his life. Even here Jason was keeping the vultures away so he and Brenda could have went into hiding.
I get he was scared, I get he was trying to protect her but nothing excuses him leaving her at the alter like he did. He was cruel ....very cruel. Only to have gotten married a zillion times later in the years
I think it's because she is really the only one he truly loves with everything in him! She is the only one he does not want to damn! The others to me even Carly are bed warmers! Did he love some of them, yes and no. Brenda to me was the only one he would sacrifice his happiness for and hers!
That was the point. To piss Brenda off so bad she would not try to follow Sonny or track him down. She would be so humiliated she would hate him (At least for a while) that she would make no effort to try and find him, hence giving himself enough time to get away and keep her safe.
