So that’s where Lyd is. On Sunday 2nd July I went to the L&B on which Lyn was in service, and they had a poster that said she had been on the WHR with Lyd in 2019. th-cam.com/video/dD_-JmT_2vc/w-d-xo.html
Lyd is a resident loco at the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland. I have videos from both occasions when 762 Lyn visited the railway. Would like to see it back one day.
Nice footage and it looked like a great event overall. Sorry for being the negative one, but from a mechanical perspective I'm not a fan of loco's (Russell & Lyd) struggling so much all the time. A heavy 10 coach train in wet conditions with these two loco's was quite optimistic. In almost all the footage I've seen one or both of them are losing traction virtually all the time, which is far from kind to a loco. Those new-era coaches are heavier than the vintage examples so are surely more suited to Garratt haulage?
It was a one off run, I think it is fair to say both locos are not often worked so hard. It is unusual to see anything but a Garratt hauling that rake of carriages. Hopefully next year we will see the NG15 at the head of a similar consist, looking forward to seeing what it can do.
@@Meengineer100 Thanks for replying and fair comments. Although I have to add that it only takes a one-off to cause damage to the loco's. Yes I'm also looking forward to seeing the NG15 in action. It's a shame the new 590 missed this event. For me seeing Russell & 590 double head a more sensible load would be close to unbeatable!
Great footage, thank you for sharing 😊
Cheers!
Ah OK! That’s a rare occurrence on the F&WHR! Your footage is great, fantastic vantage points etc 👍

Lovely filming and great locations! What was the cause of the stoppage and laughter at around 6 mins in?
Thank you. To put it simply, they were short of steam.
