The temperament of both Old English Sheepdog and Bearded Collie is very similar. Of course, the temperament and personality can be vastly influenced by early training and socialization, but in general, both breeds make excellent active family companions who love its owners and family and are very affectionate towards them. Both are also pretty accepting to other people and animals if you introduce them properly and they are quite tolerant towards kids. But of course, you should never leave any dog breed with very young child unsupervised.

Great video! Yes OES have lots of energy, LOTS! LOL! So keep that mind! Also daily brushing to avoid matting is key! They love the snow and cold weather, not a breed for hot weather places! I love both, Beardies are great too! Awesome video mate, cheers! 🐶

OES are HUGE, they can go over 100lbs. They are easy to keep once mature if you keep them in a haircut. The coat protects them from cold, if you don't have cold all year round, you better give them a haircut or they can get a heat stroke. We have OES with TAILS in the USA now, just have to look for them. We aren't all idiots. They didn't mention that Bearded Collies never have blue eyes, and often an OES does have one or two in each litter. OES are very hyper when young....Honestly they sound very similar. OES's history is as a livestock driver, not a herder. Biggest myth. We use ours as livestock guardians and their ancestry is Russian LGD's, they excel as deterrents to smaller predators such as cougars and small black bear. They are kind and gentle to small animals and likely wouldn't attach wildlife, just chase it. Hence the 'driving' instinct.
