    My review of the Hurley Advantage Plus 3/2 wetsuit.
    I've surfed with it for a few weeks now, and I like it! Pretty much as warm as my 4/3 7TILL8 wetsuit from last year.
    The stitching on the knee is coming unraveled though.

    I had the 2019 model, which I bought after your review. The fit was perfect, I absolutely loved it. Unfortunately a stitch under the armpit came loose, and I could return it under warranty (2 weeks before warranty void). I read a review with the same issue. One of the shop assistants where I bought it asked if I had problems in the calf area as well, and now that I come to think of it, kind of. Sometimes water accumulated in the calf area and I had to release it every now and then.

    what you might try to prolong the life in your fullsuits is by using a durable grocery bag around your foot each time you put on a leg. alternate or try keeping them clean as you can and use a storage bin to get our of your wetty in. better than rough/contaminated surfaces.
    you can melt the unraveling stitch and put some neoprene cement over the seam. good work!

      Haha yeah.I cant put it on without a grocery bag

    • @HoStevie

      Yeah the grocery bag trick is great, especially when the suit is still wet!

    Yeah I cant handle cold either. 64 and below, especially if the wind chill is bad, and I'm in my 4/3. I went back to the back zips. I found that the chest zip and zip free cause some shoulder restriction on one side.

    • @HoStevie
      @HoStevie  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm torn between chest and back zip. I liked my Oneill backzip, but supposedly chest zips are warmer and more flexible

    I had a 4/3 which broke down and stretched out pretty quickly , the sleeves got worn out from my elbows, and had a couple of leaking problems
    my buddy had the same issues. Only good thing is that is light and stretchy.

    i am tall and skinny as well and 3/2 just doesn't cut it.....so i got back in water today since 05 and bought brand new oneill physco one 4/3 and have to say while flexible it definetly wasn't a warm suit, already thinking of getting rip curl FB heatseaker (expensive) or last years xcel drylock both in 4/3....when you don't have a lot of meat on your bones hard to stay warm...….ive always been colder than any of my friends in water.....so i look for mid 40's temp suits for mid 50 deg water..... i couldn't even get to my feet today, lol....gonna take a bit of time and i felt so weak in water....still tho felt good to burn muscles and be in ocean

    Hey Stevie, I have an almost not used Hurley Advantage Plus 3/3 and the legs are falling apart the same way as your old wetsuit, just after a few sessions. I still have the warranty and I can change it for an Advantage Plus 3/2 (no more 3/3 in the market) but wonder how was with your 3/2, is it strong? or the quality wasn't that good?

    Hey Stevie, I just got the Hurley Advantage Plus 3/2mm for Christmas today and I got a medium since all my other wetsuits like from ripcurl and billabong are a medium. This wetsuit felt kind of tight even though it was my size, does it feel better/break in after a few uses so it won’t be as tight?

    • @HoStevie

  • @HerbertFitzgerald
    @HerbertFitzgerald 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Sounds crazy, but I use a tiny amount of super glue as soon as I see a stitch starting to wear. It's definitely helped me prolong life. Still rocking a rip curl 3/2 from 3 years ago.

      @@HoStevie Too warm for 60-70F? I'm going to Florida in a week, staying there for a month. Choosing between 3/2 and 4/3 Drylock so far. Always been in sweet water in Montreal mostly, ocean can be a bit different temp wise with all the currents. I know Florida is warm and I was fine in a 4/3 Psycho 2 5 years ago in the river at 70F, so I'm willing to go with a 4/3 drylock for long hours in the ocean. What do you think?

    I have a 4.3 Hurley Advantage Plus. Worst wetsuit i've bought. Logos all fell off after the first surf, rips in the neoprene started appearing randomly and the knee stitching become unraveled. Suit was awesome for a week but would not recommend as an everyday wetsuit. Only buy one of these if your a professional surfer who will wear it once.
