The 4-2-3-1 system allows the coach to play with one striker (numbers 9), one playmaker (number 10), two wingers (numbers 7 and 11), two midfielders (numbers 4 and 8). Some coaches call this system “4-4-1-1”, but the logic behind it is the same.
