If Ethiopians decided to make popular sounds and things that people gravitate towards, they would have some skin in the game. The fact that you are blatantly trying to exclude the other factor I noted to Nigeria's success is also amusing... Nigeria didn't become dominant on its own merit or people gravitating to things authentic to Nigeria... It became that way by your artists noticing what other cultures are doing that's good and appropriating it as Nigerian...I used the word appropriate/stealing because unlike many other cultures that borrow and use things from other cultures, they don't pretend like they originated them and those things somehow become attributable to them because they are the loudest...This is part of why I dont give Nigeria the respect that would otherwise be due to them... The only artist in the modern era that I give respect to for being truly Nigerian and representing all things original to Nigeria is Rema...
@@margaretwumi751this shows your ignorance and myopic bubble that you exist in... Indian Bollywood actors have fan bases that far out number any Hollywood star you can imagine... They have cricket players that have more Instagram followers than global stars like Ronaldo & kimk, that you in craphole Nigeria wouldn't know nor recognise...China takes it a notch up where they have their own social platforms and media to where Americans and Europeans are trying to break into, instead of Chinese people trying to break into their industry... So population does matter- even though it DOESNT DETERMINE HOW GOOD OR TALENTED YOU ARE OVER OTHERS. Your ignorance and name calling changes nothing in reality
Lol, there was no safrican artiste bigger than Pasquare and dbanj during thier reign . Name that artiste. U guys just had infrastructure but not fame. Afrucan music was not recognized abroad at that time so to say south afruca did anything is laughable. Afri an music became world wide when nigerian music became worldwide. Tell me what afrucan charts did south africa influence? Nigeria influenced all and i mean all foreign music categories that all of a sudden all afrucans are now looking for nominations. Go andl rest. First to start doesn't equate to champion. As for jollof? 🤣🤣🤣 jollof is not even native to any west african nation we all grew up eating jollof. Some say it started in Senegal, but not definitely ghana. So rest. Appropriate my ass. If ghana owns afrobeats then how come ghana has never in thier history produced 1 afrobeats artiste? How can one say we stole ur sound but u have never had 1 artiste in ur history doing such sound. All of u go to bed. We r just more talented. Movie is the same.
@@Diddi-o3c "african music was not recognised at the time..." This is why i dont engage with ignorant fools online... Go check the grammys and oscars South africa has won champ...and over what periods in time has SA driven the African movement internationally... Just cause you and your nigerians werent hip, doesnt mean the world wasnt. And sure it may have not been to the levels it is now with African sounds being more mainstream, but again, go educate yourself before comjng online and sounding like and uneducated fool
Musically, Nigeria is weak. Hence, they tend to copy the styles and genre from different countries. Apart from nigerian neighbouring countries, which country is also trying to copy Afrobeats?
See the way everyone is ignoring you 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Nigeria is the biggest in Africa recognize that
So weak they are winning awards. You sound like a Ghanaian.
Clownnn
Great take brother ple do Nigerian movies . Africa for Africans
Hey I was following your content until you went off as usual the negative narrative. Yes Yahoo boys bank rolled afrobeats. Daft narrative. It is not that the Nigerian afrobeats has the best quality. Jealousy is a killer
Thank you for taking your time to watch part of the video. I genuinely appreciate that. Unfortunately, I cannot modify reality to accommodate audience sensitivity to well-documented facts.
You are welcome to Google and research anything you dispute. As clearly noted, the Yahoo Boys side of things impacted SOME artists and SOME circles in the Nigerian music industry. This should be very clear. It’s not a unique thing to Nigeria either, many African countries back in the day had a lot of illicit proceedings being funnelled through the music industry whether to their detriment or benefit.
I don’t make these videos to find consensus but to cover as many bases as possible to paint the accurate picture. That means some people won’t like what they hear as they expect to reinforce their pre-existing beliefs but that can’t be my battle. I already get enough abuse in the comments from Nigerians and everyone else that just expects praise videos for their favourite song, artist, genre or country. I thank you again for watching.
