Brilliant show once again today. Thank you guys. Absolutely loved the typhoon display this afternoon. Heres hoping we all can get to an airshow this year.
Will meet ya up there at some point, we are only down near Spalding. Didn’t get time today to come and say hi. Me and my wife nip up to watch them when on nights and we are not in restrictions. May give the 95 Shogun a run if it’s a nice day lol. 👍👍🤜🤛
From 1962 the US Navy Operation Deep Freeze Dakotas changed from R4D to LC-47 ,the only two LC-47 still around are in Aviation Museums one at Pensacola retired when still known as a R4D,other is in Christchurch, New Zealand at Ferrymead, Aeronautical Society and like Pensacola one is undercover.
Dakota tailwheels are not steerable, they're free castoring but can be locked straight for take off and landing. You steer with differential throttle and brakes whilst taxying, the airscrews are too far out on the wing for the rudder to be in the propwash at taxying speeds.
These guys could land those puppies on the palm of your hand :) Great gear you have, regulars will know just how long your camera view is, that's ridiculous camera work ... thumbs up to ya !! OH and by the way, them barrel roles where special weren't they ?
The Chipmunks are part of the BBMF and are used for getting pilots reacquainted with "tail dragger" planes. New pilots to BBMF and existing pilots at the beginning of the season. Modern planes having the tricycle style undercarriage. New pilots then go on to Hurricanes before Spitfires. Don't think the pilot who has probably got a great many hours in fast jets would appreciate being described as a "young cadet".
that typhoon display was one of the best i have ever seen, i watched the whole show, amazing camera work...
I live in the area where you were filming today, Dakota went right over me pretty low, brilliant stuff!

Fantastic I am a helicopter girl really but when a jet goes straight up or loops it's just amazing. Mum's favourite aircraft is the Volcan.

Awesome show Jerry and Gilly.
the dc 3 was originaly tail heavy.. so the swept back the wings out board of the engines thus solving the problem..
British Aerospace EAP was the forerunner to the Typhoon.

Hi
all combat aircraft always fill their fuel tanks right up ... more fuel less space for condensation,,,,water ,,, which is not good !
RAF typhoons..
All fighters are inherently unstable and have been designed and built that way for many years,
