Hi Dr Berg. I'm Lorna from the UK and I just want to thank you for your video content. I have been watching your channel since Dec.2018 and started Keto on Jan 28th 19. I have been a type 2 diabetic for 3 years developing background retinopathy already. Scared to death of losing my eyesight, I stumbled upon your content. On May 1st after losing 28 pounds, 2 bra sizes and bizarrely a shoe size, I had my HBa1c blood test. Well, yesterday I found out not only am I not diabetic anymore but I'm back in the normal ranges of a non-diabetic. Thanks to you and your wife, your information, recipes etc. I feel like I have walked away from a death sentence. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart.

Preferably cooked to bring out the digestive enzymes in the veggies to help the body digest them. Crunchy veggies take out needed iodine..

I've been a chronic insomniac for 25 years whose tried just about everything to improve my sleep with little success. About a year ago I discovered my blood sugar was kinda high. I kept reading that this can cause sleep difficulties, but no where could I find a description of the mechanism except an off-the-beaten path doctor's blog - in particular the middle of the night hypoglycemia that raises adrenaline and cortisol in order to stimulate making sugar from the liver. Started eating low carb and it was absolutely life-changing for my sleep. My sleep certainly isn't perfect but I'm so grateful for the major improvement in my quality of life because of sleeping better. Thanks for confirming this, Dr. Berg.

I’ve followed your strict keto with just eggs, avocado, seafood, fish and veggies and I’ve lost 22 pounds in one month. I haven’t lost weight in five years! In the past I did keto and exercised for eight weeks and lost 0 pounds because my medications had insulin in them which I didn’t know. So this time i intermittent fasted for 23 hours a day and in my one meal I stayed under 1200 calories. I’m Not hungry at all, but I do have too much energy and my sleep is down to 4-5 hours a night. Sometimes I’m up 32-46 hours straight and I’m Very ill, but I’m pushing through because I really Need to lose the weight to lessen my Pain. I just want to thank you! You really have changed my life I think I can lose 10 pounds a month minimum. I started at 240 I’m down to 218, but the fat on my whole body is dramatically getting smaller. I QUIT sugar and Carbs all together there are only a tiny amount of carbs I have in my broccoli and cauliflower. I don’t eat anything Sweet if it tastes sweet I spit it out. I think you said that on your video and it’s spot On! If I knew how to reach you I’d clean your office or run errands or do Something to show you my Gratitude! As a newer insomnia sufferer due to chronic stress (used to sleep like a baby until 40 yrs old), I tried EVERYTHING (potassium, B1, walking, etc.) Those things helped some, but the thing that TRULY helped me get deeper sleep was physically de-stressing my body before sleep.
I didn't realize how much tension built up in my muscles was contributing to my fast heart rate (body won't rest or sleep deep with a heart rate in the 80s). I kept focusing on my mind (meditation) but when your body is so tense and tight, it contributes more to racing thoughts and the cycle continues.
I bought one of those massage guns and used it on my chest, neck and shoulder area before bed in addition to turning off electronics (blue light) 3 hours before bed, took a warm bath and stretched 10 minutes before bed. I used to have a pulsing heartbeat when lying down and reducing that tension made the sensation much better.
What a HUGE difference!! I started sleeping deeper immediately and intermittent fasting/keto made it even better. I'm not back to my 8.5 9 hours, but I'll take 7!! I was only getting 4-5 for about 2 years most nights.
Stress is truly a killer! Get it under control so your body can rest. If you have chronic anxiety or stress, your body needs a release. Wind down before bed with yoga, stretching, etc.

    1) Dont eat heavy meal after 8 pm

    4) drink a lot of water

Enhanced formula for even better results:
      (1) Do NOT eat ANY meal after 9 pm (+ if possible: first meal at 12 o'clock durig period of intermetent fasting)
      (2) GO to bed at 11 pm (and do not use computer nor phone there!)
      (3) true :)
      (4) true :) - just do not drink a lot right before going to bed (it will wake you up to go to the bathroom).

As a person with Bipolar I, I have learned the hard way about Cortisol and my natural sleep cycles. I never cut the grass/manual labor and/or exercise after 2pm. If I do, I will be not able to sleep that night and it will lead up to my cycling in my Bipolar regardless of any meds. Proper sleep is that important! Also, my weight will increase too......from to much Cortisol even if I stick to as little as 1400 calories.
So, I made huge saricifices and changed jobs(from a job that I loved but too physically/mentally demanding after 4pm) to a less physically/mentally demanding job with somewhat more flexibilty with hours and stress that helps my stress, sleep and thus my Bipolar.
