The problem with trying to be a producer, and not a beat maker, is trying to find a way to be innovative that will catapult you to stand out from everyone else. It’s incredibly difficult. Kanye is brilliant

As a producer ima tell you it starts in your head then recreate it and replicate it as close as possible to what you hear in your head. No one can teach you feeling and creating music starts in the soul bro

Navie D stands apart from other producer TH-camrs because his videos always leave me inspired and empowered to immediately apply an easy to understand fundamental concept. As someone who has been at this as a hobbyist for longer than I’d care to admit 😂 A lot of the topics he covers I might already be aware of but his approach still makes me appreciate how being deliberate can yield a wealth of interesting results. Thank you Navie D for continuing to be a breath of fresh air in this space.

The “hiding the seams” technique will take sampled beats to the next level. You have much more control over the beginning and end of your phrases.. say you have a vocal that plays into the end of your sample loop and you want it to flow seamlessly into the first bar, you can take another short chop from elsewhere in the song and glue it in at the start then drop back into where the loop would have played initially. If that makes any sense

It's all about the timing / swing from the akai MPC which give you that feel this is no standard quantise. This is why the beats work. Loops are cut are and plays in via pads and given the same swing/timing. You need to feel it something software can't do. You can hear right away your beats don't have this swing. Have you looked I to this before?
