Nice to see a vid with the legendary module. I bought the pass to get me the gold as soon as the module was added (Dutchie, got to have it). Good to see that they way I seem to need to play (let DDs clear the way and then support) is the correct way. On EU that seems to work (most of the time). Even though the Netherlands were a naval power a long time ago, now they need to sit 2nd row. Some extra range would indeed help. With all the backlash they're getting (They've even won from the Sevastopool in Slai's battle to the bottom) I'm commited to master the ships. I can't wait until I can get Michiel de Ruyter. (No chance on enough budget for the premium ships or the harbour)
I don't actually dislike the Dutch cruisers, I just find the supercruisers frustrating to play in T10 meta (at least on Asia, haven't tried this on NA). The airstrike mechanic is a neat gimmick, playing it on Groningen is great fun. I might revisit the lower tier Dutch cruisers, especially with De Ruyter. Speaking of which, the one skill I'm not actually too fond of is the airstrike one. I think on GL, APCS would actually be better, but unfortunately, they clash positionally.
It was odd, a lot of people seemed content after this module came out. It didn’t really address the range issue. It helped with reload on the AS but not reload on the mains. The module was nice, but I think a boost to range/reload and activating the 3x2 120’s on each side of the ship would have been better.
I see the current meta being mostly range-based. For cruisers, defence can either be remaining undetected while firing, or high manoeuvrability. Supercruisers like GL struggle with both, she can't effectively island hug due to her size, and she doesn't have the manoeuvrability to dodge fire at ranges she has to engage. She's also completely ineffective against DDs, which means she gets double-punished for any kind of aggressive play. The short range air strike would be devastating on a light cruiser, and the leg mod would be amazing for that. On GL, I would have much preferred a 10% range buff instead. So yeah, we'll see if there are future adjustments that make the whole package work, for now, I'm not keen on the top tiers of that line.
I like these unique fun ships. What other premium ships exist that are like this? I guess mostly the hybrid ships. The Ise, Tone, Nebraska line and now this Tromp are all the ones I have. I’m grinding the Dutch line but The tromp ship is beyond fun and never knew that combo existed. Anything else to look out for?
First hour I had it I got into a match with 2 others so we teamed up for some straight meme matches lol One of the matches had no CV but a Louisiana and gouden leeuw in our team as well haha I’m in the hospital which is why I’ve spent random money to get it. I don’t condone spending what it cost. Even getting lucky in the preuban, Pommern and Hyagua within 30 draws. Less than $50 for the 3 but $90 for the tromp.
I think Slai47 mentioned as well that it makes it a good ship - I don't quite see that yet, but again, I'm testing on Asia, which means I have to play in front of the DDs to be effective. For me, it makes it an ok ship, but for her to be good, I'd need a range buff on the guns. My measure of "good" would be consistency, where I can have impact on the battle regardless of map or enemy plays, and in a supercruiser, that means range, since I need to compensate for the lack of armour.
Legends on console is a beautiful game but my community on Blitz is so good. Yes, there is now a fleet feature on Legends for fleets now but my biggest problem is time. I don't prefer Legends because of that as well as the convenience. I played Legends for over two year while playing Blitz, and I have some powerful ships but now it is a side show.
Dutch captains be calling airstrikes from land using telephones😂, am also looking for some tips in handling dutch cruisers(am relatively new to them) and i dont do much, rn am in tier 6 and i see i mostly miss my airstrikes bcoz they are predictable at that range

AFAIK, the Dying Flutchman skill is currently bugged, so you're much better off with APCS
I'm thinking even if it wasn't (didn't know it was, thanks for pointing that out) APCS would be the better choice.

You usually see those in the rear, they're bumpers to ensure the screws don't get too close when moored, I believe
They’re propeller guards, meant to stop props from hitting other ships when they are in docks and often tightly packed.
I think gun is very good on this line specially after t7
