    Elegant job! Thank you! What do you know about double sided matte DTF film for Epson, I read somewhere that you need double sided matte film for unmodded Epson, do they refer to the pizza wheels?

    Hi Jay, been enjoying watching your videos for a while now, just subscribed.
    I’m looking at an Epson 7900 to convert like your 7880….are they similar? Can’t find much on the 7900 being coverted.
    Or would i be better off converting a 9600 instead do you think?
    I’ll be using Acrorip 10 as i already use that with my L1800 which you have helped me a lot with in your videos.
    Thanks so much and keep up the great work!

      Thanks for watching my videos! I appreciate the support. I would say that the conversions for all three of those printers are exactly the same. I don't know if I would fully commit to the 9600, unless you found one at a great price, as it is a model from the early 2000's. I will have several printers to convert, soon; hopefully one of them will be a suitable model for you to follow, for your conversion. I will record all of my conversions.

    Love your videos. Getting ready to convert one myself following your steps. Quick question though, How do you wet cap? Or do you use another method to keep white from drying out over night or a couple of days?

    • @elegant_edits
      @elegant_edits  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      From what I've experienced, you do not need to wet cap with the 7890 because it does routine cleaning cycles, pretty much anytime you do anything with the printer. I would also make sure you're using quality inks, because that will be the culprit, if you notice ink drying out, on the head.

      @@elegant_edits Just got my flush kit and going to load at full strength as the printer has sat a long time. Ink charge and let it sit 24hrs. repeat and see what i have to work with. I use DTF Superstore inks and they have been awesome so far but they do dry out if not using the printer without capping. Would you recommend a certain brand? Was looking at Kingdom Inks, and also waiting for your next review on ink sets..

    I'm purchasing a Epson 7890 myself is the conversion expensive ?

    • @elegant_edits
      @elegant_edits  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, definitely. The 7890 has long lines and the volume of the carts is also a blessing and a curse; since, you can print for a longer duration of time, but you'll also have to keep the carts full, for each channel, which can be costly. I would only use two channels for white, instead of four.

    hello jay
    my name is mike and i am currently building a sc-p6000 epson to become a dtf printer.
    I'm trying to start with acroripv10.3 and your cartridge setup.
    do the correct cartridges have to be used and simply another color in the position? I ask about the chip. I have to specify the order in acrorip. you put magenta in a yellow cartridge i think?
    Please get in touch. I started a good conversion with circulation and screen integrated :-)
    THANK YOU for your VIDEOS THANK YOU and greetings from Germany

    • @TheXboxSux
      @TheXboxSux 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Mike If I we're you i'd strongly look into installing a custom ink circulation system for the white channels otherwise you're going to have lots of wasted ink every time you print, inconsistent white prints if you can't keep that machine running every day, or clogged up printhead in the first year. So far No one I know has figured out how to make the 6000 circulate without introducing air into the system. Might be something you want to think about engineering and get back to us with what you came up with if anything.

    Where do you order your film and dtf ink?

    • @elegant_edits
      @elegant_edits  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I actually use my own brand, now. We order from overseas. I've been privately invoicing customers for orders, until we officially launch the ink, powder and film sales, at the end of next month.

    Hi I was just wondering how the new ink is working? Also I had some questions about dtf printers. I am very new to dtf and am still trying to decide what to get. I am considering one from procolored but I can't find any actual reviews for them.

    • @TheXboxSux
      @TheXboxSux 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You never will. All the Chinese models use off the shelf parts and custom software to work. Unless of course you're looking at the L1800 or R2400 conversions those companies sell. The only time I would consider paying an upcharge on converted model or even a large format model is if they have implemented a FULL ink circulation system in them. Like ink from the print head back to the container and around again kind of circulation.

    • @elegant_edits
      @elegant_edits  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey! I'm sorry for the delayed response. I have had great experience with the inks. I am using both Big Boi Inks(Epson 7890) and Kingdom DTF inks (Epson L1800). I have run the L1800 for nearly a year, with no issues and the same print head, that it shipped with. I am 2 months into using the inks from Big Boi Inks and Have noticed that it takes a Long time, for the inks to separate(which is a good thing!). People have their own opinions about DTF printing, but my experience is that, if you have great inks, and do routine maintenance, it will extend the life of your print head. I haven't heard anything good, nor bad about the Procolored systems. I will be offering printers, soon. I am negotiating with an overseas manufacturer and have spent the last month; asking them the tough questions. Our printers will use Korean inks (some of the best formulated DTF inks), a DX5 print head and ink warming, and circulation system. I will post updates on this channel, once we are ready to launch.

    Will a Epson P6000 work for DTF ?

    • @elegant_edits
      @elegant_edits  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It can work, but the issue people are having right now is that Epson's new technology renders each cart useless after a finite number of resets. This means that you will need a new cart, after the printer realizes that you have been using the same chipset. The only reputable company that has engineered a system to bypass this issue is DTGPro. They are the leaders in DTF innovation, in my opinion. Here's the comparative model from them:

    did you figure out how to stop the pre print cleaning

    • @elegant_edits
      @elegant_edits  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the auto-cleaning function is just part of the printer's operation and cannot be prevented. I did figure out how to stop the nozzle check function, however.
      From the printer's menu, select:
      MENU > PRINTER SETUP > AUTO NOZZLE CHECK > OFF (PRESS OKAY)
