I just had a cool idea for a DIY project. A fish tank crossed with a nightstand. Imagine a nightstand with a light that acts as a lamp when you're in bed with a detachable wood/metal lid that you can put stuff on top of. Someone's probably made something like that, but I think it'd be a cool thing to try to make yourself.
yeah, this is an advantage to either keeping multiple babies together or starting with a smaller tank with a single baby and sizing up as they grow. though I get that in a breeder situation he wouldn't wanna mix this guy in with his bred batches of babies for the sake of tracking parentage, and he won't frequently have many single goldfish. idk if you can train a goldfish to go to the same area every time for feeding like you can with a betta, but if possible it can help long term in them finding more of their food. also, a cleanup crew with the babies might be good while in the feeding-them-up growth stage! probably some bigger slower-breeding snail types, since a lot of shrimp need opposite parameters to goldfish, and detritus eating fish add more bioload than they clean up usually.
