Just an idea but I'm sure you could make buttons appear concave by using a ball tool.. and also you could do fancier buttons by buying some then pressing the button into fondant and using a round cutter about the same size as the design to cut it out then flipping it over so the design is face up and using your finger to press into the middle of the back and making it less flat..

Zoes Fancy Cakes i am using gumpaste and am now mixing 50/50 and trying that thanks so much for helping me i do use shortening sometimes on my figures so deffinetly cutting that out. again thanks!!!
