If a white woman in the 1600's or 1700's was captured from France or Sicily and brought to North Africa and then sold to a Muslim there, her children by him would have been Arab Muslims with light skin. Y’all act like Algeria was a colony. It wasn’t it was just as much a part of France as Normandy or Corsica. Along with this they act like Algeria was a country like it is today. While this technically true it was de facto a part of the Turkish Ottoman Empire. I find it deeply disturbing how you are rewriting history to fit a narrative. In no way am a trying to say that the torture of French Algerians was ok, it was horrible but the way you want to describe the rest of its history is disgusting to me. I consider myself someone who deeply values history and I love learning. I have learned from many, many different sources and videos and this is the only one that seeks to demonize France for being a colonizer. May I remind you that the Barbary pirate who operated from Tunis Tripolitania and of course Algeria raided European shipping for years and had enslaved over 2.5 million Christian’s to either act as translators slave labor or the worst of all row in their military fleets. In fact during the battle of lepanto over 16000 Christians were liberated by the holy league from this horrible fate. As a French I must say, an vocal apology isn’t enough for our crimes and colonialism. We should also give back everything stolen and give economic support. After the reason all those countries are "less developed " is because of France. So we should help them to reach the same level of quality live as in France.

If a white woman in the 1600's or 1700's was captured from France or Sicily and brought to North Africa and then sold to a Muslim there, her children by him would have been Arab Muslims with light skin.
