I'm grateful to Steve for getting Carla to start playing piano more, because I dig her playing. Duets was a big album for me. Miss her; the amazing music lives on.
This music, coupled with how many years have passed for Carla and Steve, and all of us, fills me with a sweet melancholy and immense gratitude.
I'm speakless every time I listen tis intense song.

I just stumbled upon "Night Music" with David Sanborn, Carla Bley, Steve Swallow, Bootsy Collins introduces the song, and gives a few anecdotes about playing with James Brown, very funny, and leads the band in a super sweet version of "Lawns"
But Bootsy renames this version "Healing Power"
and it sure is medicinal sounding.
Rüdiger, remarkable how you manage to blend in with these two sound and feel wise!! I mean: the two are tuned to each other for decades, but still you do not at all sound like an "intruder", but rather like a perfect puzzle piece. Congrats! I loved the album A Guitar Named Carla. I'm usually not a big fan of cover albums, but damn you gave a different look at some songs (specially Ida Lupino, Eoth and Musique Mecanique III)

Obviously, I had to buy it right away.
I liked the whole album, Musique mecanique III version is interesting and modern.

Sad about Carla
Dude, I’m sure you can play n all but fuck me, those notes all bent sharp offend my ear. I’d be much more comfortable with you bending pitches from slightly flat into tune. All these sharp notes, the strat neck bend? Jesus, man.
Unfortunately, this performance requires more study, understanding, and re-recording of the music after Rudiger has spent many years. Rudiger ruined the perfect feeling of Carla and Steve. Despite Rudiger being a good guitarist. Rudiger does not understand this music deeply. The Lawns played by Carla and Steve's a piece of god that a generic musician should not touch.
Carla and Steve appeared to be very happy with the result. Who are we to argue the point?
Wow...Do yourself a favor and see another therapist! The world needs less haters
