  • We visited a Turkish village called Kavashra in northern Lebanon, on the Syrian border. These Turks, who are Ottoman heirlooms, still speak Turkish, have preserved their essence, and are now receiving Turkish education through teachers sent from Turkey. There are many Turkish villages around but only Turks in Kavashra can speak Turkish. The surrounding villages also started to learn Turkish through teachers sent from Turkey. This region was very deprived years ago, in recent years Turkey has sent financial support to this village and built a water facility. The people of this place say that Turkey is our mother and father. It is very clear that the people of this place lived in very difficult conditions in previous years because they were saying that Turkey is looking at us and they were crying. Turkmens from Syria also lived in this village. We arrived in this village in the pitch black of the evening. We didn't know anyone from this village, but they took us into their homes without question and did not fail in their hospitality.
