If you put boats in the cow pin, they count as entities so you can actually set it up to auto kill them as they enter. An idea is to keep two or more to the side in an enclosure, then have your breeding area, and a small offshoot to let them walk to and then fall into a 1x1 with a bunch of boats and a hopper to a chest so that it crams so many entities into the small area that it kills the cows as they go inside.
Haven't even watched yet, but so stoked for this. It is such fun and joy watching you play Minecraft. ❤ 20 min in: I agree, there's just something more fun about early survival MC over creative. Couple things: glowstone doesn't turn off and on at all, but redstone lamps do! They look "smarter", as well! Underwater magma keeps your air filled, just crouch on it so it doesn't hurt.
