5:49 is really interesting to me, because it highlights something people might miss really well.
The vocals here are amazing. There’s no way around that. But the song just doesn’t hit. Why? Because of the instrumental.
I’d argue the instrumental is more important than vocals in a song. Heck, the vocals are basically just a lead ‘instrument’ for it, but if they have nothing to back them up they simply won’t work as well.
