- Boston sports radio host Tony Massarotti apologized for racially insensitive remarks he made on air during 98.5 The Sports Hub’s “Felger & Mazz” show on Friday.
At the time, Massarotti had asked his co-host Michael Felger, who was doing the show remotely, about two Black men sitting behind him in a common area at a hotel.

Just heard about this now so came to see Mazz’s “racist” comments.. come on.. it’s not because they’re black it’s the whole look: the scowl, the hood up indoors, the slouching in the seat. You take the subway to South Boston you will see white crackheads you could make the same comment about.

There are way funnier situations and jokes avail for the air than giggling that the mere pressence of a black person should threaten someone. That being said work on your humor. Firing this guy is going way to far, and I can't stand cancel culture. I find it cruel, unforgiving, with no path to redemption. I would never cause harm to someone over a joke. I am a black person in Utah and have had to hear a lot of b.s. simply based on my appearance, and frankly, some people are due for at least some shaming. 2023 needs Jesus already.

I just now know Toni's thoughts here. I'm hoping he learns and grows and has empathy for some who would feel hurt. I dont think he should be canceled or fired IMHO

I am more upset at the following: The first: "They can't hear us, right?" and the second: "It's not who I am" from Massarotti than anything else... The first one shows cowardice because he wouldn't have said what he said if these two guys behind Felger could hear him and the second one is exactly what Thom Brennaman said after he made that homophobic remark that went out over the air, comes off as a meek, weak and desperate individual trying to keep his job. This video should be called the Tale of Two Tonys.

In the early 80's I drove a cab part time in Bradenton, and I picked up a black guy and he sat right behind me and slouched really low. I held my breath the whole drive because I was certain he was going to rob me, kill me, or rob and kill me. Fortunately, he paid me at the end of the trip and I'm breathing today. Moral of the story, he looked like he was going to do something bad.

Since George Floyd and the Biden administration which promotes crime and victimizes criminals I have become more aware of my surroundings when it comes to certain looking blacks. One day I was walking into a supermarket when a black man dressed in dirty jeans and a raggedy sweatshirt walked in 3 feet behind me. It was just a coincidence but I wasn't taking any chances of him right behind me so I turned left in the first aisle just so he can keep going. He didn't do anything in the store but after seeing everything thats going on these days by them in stores, gas stations, bodega's, armed robbery and car jackings i wasnt taking any chances. These liberal laws want to take away the good guys guns but criminals get illegal guns all the time. You gotta have your head on a swivel at all times. No offense to the good citizens of the black community but these crimes that I mentioned are committed by African Americans 90 % of the time.
