Hi I am not a big eater however I had the Allurion balloon last year it was brilliant I had no pain at all. At first the body needs to get used to the balloon being there so you can feel nauseated however I new very quickly that it was because it was because the stomach was trying to get rid of the balloon. Provide you follow all the instructions and ask questions from the specialists around you You will have great success. If you are thinking of having two balloons I am aware it is advised to have a break in between.Allurion gives you all the help and support you need. Encourage you to engage and talk about it with them they will help you 💕I wish you luck take care you will succeed

I would love to try the Allurion Balloon, I think there is a 2 balloon option. But the reviews are so mixed, which worries me as it is a lot of money and some have had to have the balloon removed early because of pain or sickness.
I’m not a big meal person, I am what I would call a grazer so I am not sure how a balloon would help with a grazer ?

“Misconceptions like eat less and move more”. This is not a misconception. There are no fat people who eat a healthy, calorie-controlled diet and take adequate exercise.

Maintaining a healthy diet and exercising regularly are important for staying healthy, but developing excess weight or obesity, is caused by many different things like genes you inherit from your parents, the balance of special chemicals in your body, and environmental factors. Because of this, obesity is recognized as a complex disease by important medical groups like the World Health Organization.
For some people, just eating better and exercising more might not be enough to help with obesity, especially if they have certain medical issues. Studies show that the best way to deal with obesity is to do a lot of things together, like changing what you eat, doing more physical activities, but also getting therapy to help you change your behavior, and sometimes getting medical help like an operation or a non-surgical gastric balloon like Allurion.
Understanding that obesity is not just about eating less and moving more helps us come up with better ways to help people with obesity be healthier in the long run.

No. Genes may have a very small impact, but overeating and not exercising enough are what cause obesity. Not having sufficient willpower to do anything about it is why it happens.
Pathologising fatness is not helpful and just gives people an excuse. Obesity is not a disease in itself, although it causes other diseases. I wouldn’t trust a word the WHO says.

Do you really believe we choose to be fat ? Do you know how difficult it is to live as a fat people ? For many of us, it's actually very difficult to lose weight.

@clotilde Fat is not a disease. Only in very rare cases is it medical. It is caused by overeating. You may not consciously “choose to be fat”, but if you eat more than you burn in calories you are making a choice. Nobody is forcing the food down your throat.
A company selling medical products for bariatric surgery has a vested interest in telling fat people that their ‘condition’ is medical. It isn’t. The same results can be achieved with willpower, a calorie controlled diet and exercise.
