Update, points to add missed by aalim: 1. Remember to ask people about that specific person only from neutral figures who themselves have a repution in religious field. Otherwise asking some random person at anjuman is waste as we can't trust such people. In todays day & age getting a perspective from someone who has rarely spoken to(specific spouse) or who only depends on gossip to let you know about him/her is a waste as well. for instance, being an orphan is a taboo in these people's mind. 2. Also, asking from a messy family(your own) elders who have never proved rationale in their decisions in life, they are not gonna be rationale about your marriage as well. Here being rationale with religion i.e., has followed it correctly is also a subject. 3. Lastly, even after getting to know your spouse for be it 3 months or a year doesn't necessarily change many things, try to finish making your decisions as early as possible not haste, be clear while getting to know about compatibility of one another in as less time as possible coz it would not bore you guys/let you guys fall under any haram. Also, hypothetical questions can be difficult to deal with but can be sweet talked by giving appeasing answers be careful & try to understand one another 4. Personally I feel everybody has a criteria, so that has to be fullfilled first, (not beauty standards), then you would be confident to ask her/his parents' decision
MashaAllah nice lecture.May Allah bless you Sayed.....But i find nr 2 very hard to follow since if one find one outside the country one lives in ...and being ….it is hard to ask his family or friends or hussainia what kind of man he is. One just have to take the chance if one find the person being right for oneself…..
