Wish they’d stop putting DACs in everything, you just end up paying for something you don’t end up needing and the money would be better spent on upgraded components. Still looks very nice.
I did them for as long as I could, but there are so many issues doing them that it was too time consuming for no benefit to me really. I was the only independent reviewer doing them so it was even more work for me
I remember way back when I was 14 when Cyrus' first amp was launched.... 40 years on and they products look and ARE better than ever before... Even though there are plenty of options at these price points I think the range will sell well. Congrats on the Premier review.
These are not touch screen which proves that is the assumption or the general audiophile expectation for a product like this. It’s great because I have just been making a video about it :)
Great short vid, Terry. It's super bizarre that the Oasis Time Flies CD is the first disc I put in the 40 CD, I recognised it immediately and I had to rewind the video to double check!!
Nice look. Waiting for review. They remember me my Musical fidelity hybrid integrated amplifier X-T100; CD Player X-Ray V8; and PSU Triple-X concept, that I complement with the headphones amplifier X-Can V8P that has the same vibe.
I got a Mission Cyrus One in the late 80's then replaced it with a Cyrus 3i around 1990, later added a Power to biamp. 24 years or so later it's still going strong - good to see Cyrus entering a new era, I think they have once again managed to move forward without losing their unique design DNA. Hope it sounds as good as it looks!
They have definitely upped their game, love the new looks. Didn't care much for the old styling. Great camera work as always. :) I hope you do more of this type of video as I find them as useful as a review.
My channel has been slow for videos as I have been deep into testing and reviewing 4 Cyrus 40 products at once which might not seem it but its 4x the work. I created this video right at the start to offset the downtime I knew my channel would have and because this is such a change for long historied brand like Cyrus its a cool story. Hope that makes sense
Its because I am trying to do fancy video work ,the downside is a video looks like a promo video, but all my videos are the same, or hopefully they are getting better all the time. I could just sit there and read a script from an autocue on my phone but how boring is that, its boring to make that video well. Trying to create different cool visuals excites me these days and there is so much more I could do. My skills are not quite there yet but they are getting better I think.
@@PursuitPerfectSystem well I think it's awesome. I get what you mean but I love the quality. New record day is also very high quality. Apologies if my use of words sounded negative. I meant it as a compliment.

interesting the AMP specs appear similar to the XR series. I wonder if they will bring out a pre / mono power option in this series, seems Cyrus are opting to stay out of the middle to high wattage market these days.
Love my CD XT Signature, XP Signature Pre-amp and Stereo 200 Power amp. CD's just sound so natural - I can listen for hours and not get fatigued like some digital systems do. I can't believe they've brought this out to replace the XR series already? If so, there's going to be a lot of unhappy XR owners who've just dropped a load of cash on their system.
It's claimed very clearly in the video that the XR range is being replaced by these. During the summer in the Netherlands at least, the XR series were cut in price, or dumped, it makes sense now.
@@olavblom3024AFAIK you can still get new xr components here in Poland, you can even buy new cd-i and cd-t players introed years ago. Evem new 8.2 DAc AMPS are available for 990EUR
Do we really need all these displays tho...it's music after all ..personally I like to listen and not be distracted by displays with changing displays and bright lights.. .. Grumpy 54 year old 😊
As much as I love the new look and Cyrus products in general, there's too much touchscreen activity, I prefer knobs and buttons. If there is a decent remote control then that's great.
@@PursuitPerfectSystem I’d like to see one open. I had a full Cyrus system with PSX-R’s. We are going back almost 20 years. It was an 8s2, with Cyrus tuner and CD player. I very much liked it but the problem was thermal shut down at prolonged higher volume. When the amplifier eventually failed I sold the rest off. There is only so much passive cooling a tiny case can do even with the casing acting as sink. Obviously not an issue with class D and for example the ONE Cast, one of my amplifiers. It positively thunders along in comparison. Other than that I love the Cyrus sound of their legacy products. Thanks for the review Terry.
@@4879daniel not so much for their cd players, i 've sold several of their cd players ( i work in a hifi shop) and when they came in for repair we found out that the cd transport was not available anymore. For a 6 year old cd player that it quite shameful.
Thanks Terry. I appreciate the hard work you put in behind the scenes to make videos of such consistently high quality. I look forward to the review of this Cyrus range. What a contrast in design philosophy to those HiFi Rose amps!
looked up the price for the PrevXR 😂😂😂😂😂😂over 5,495 euros sorry mate I think they must have been smoking weed as the made the price. Anyway I do enjoy your Chanel no offense. My NAD M33 cost about the same.

Thanks for sharing Terry. Cheers.

Finally they did the gorgeous new face. The last quote is from Carl Yung.
Terry, do you have any information on the headphone circuitry ? Is it pulled from the XR or an upgrade ok that ?
I don't I am sorry, I don't review the headphone outputs built into hifi out of principle. I know its not ideal but just being honest

Nice stuff, having made in Britain flash up every switch on could get tiresome, it's also a bit needy. Minimalist and subtle used to be the style.
