I'm completely speechless, John. This is by far the BEST I've ever seen. Although it won't be availabe to the general public, you and Chris have done a FUNtastic job on rendering Scrabble. A thumbs up from me to you.
9:20 "SRINT ROUND TIME TO BEAT" This game looks AMAZING! I'll echo what others said about this and all the other games: why you and Chris haven't been tapped to create home games for every show, I'll never know. This is something I would definitely pay for.
9:18 it should be "Sprint." You're missing the P.This is a BEAUTIFUL REPLICA! It looks EXACTLY like the real show. I'm going to be playing a replica of this show at TCONA (the Trivia Championships of North America) in August, 2016. This show fascinated me so much when I was a teenager back in 1985 and watched it on TV, mainly because of the music and sound effects, but it will be so cool to take a stab at the words now that I'm grown up.
@@shawnmack1487 AFAIK, his suicide wasn't the reason Charlie became announcer. It's likely because Jay wanted to stay committed to Sale of the Century, but I could be wrong. (Tuna began announcing on Scrabble in 1985; Stewart took his life in 1989.)
Wow this is amazing!!! How did you acquire master episodes? Did you used to work for the show or anything? Also I'd love for this show to be brought back... keeping as much of the original format as possible... music, etc. I think it would do really well!!
Thank you. I had access to master episodes from Fremantle because of the work I do in game shows. The show did come back, in some form in Scrabble Showdown. Our end game was played in the same manner.
Matt, so great to see your comment now that I know who you are! lol I love your channel! What a pleasure to see you're a game show fan. Hope to chat with you someday! John
Depends on who owns the property. For this it would be complicated. The Scrabble name is owned by Hasbro but the GAME is owned by Fremantle. Even if they would consider it, I'm sure it would take money to license and I don't have the time or resources to try that.
I love it! it almost looks like The 1984-90 NBC set! how did you do all this? can you make one for (Tic Tac Dough) CBS 1978 Wink Martindale 1978-85 and Jim Caldwell 1985-86 Versions too? The sets that is, I would say they would look great! of how The Original games were played and The Logo sign behind both hosts to open a picture or words or whatever was shown.
I would love to test this game for you, I used to watch this as a kid and it was my favorite game show... also i would love to test any of the game shows that you have
This is so cool. Love the transition between the live intro to the virtual set. I'm surprised that you didn't add the smaller numbers in the upper right hand corner of each tile. this should definitely needs to be on the Wii/U be able to pick up tiles and press the plunger with the use of the Wii Mote.
Oh, these are really good Jon, it's really a shame you're not allowed to release these on your site, there are not good game show games online, I hope you can release these in the future.
Maybe "unrewarded" isn't the exact word I was looking for. They just don't use this kind of exact technology when they try to recreate these games for revival on TV or in home game form...
The problem is generally they do not have anyone on staff that has a passion or cares about this stuff. I sit there sometimes half hour to 45 minutes trying to find the exact font that matches the show. And if I can't find it I recreate it. Nobody there has the time effort or care to do stuff like that. Sad but true.
Ha! Glad I'm not the only one that does this. I do my stuff in PowerPoint, though, so they aren't as realistic as your games. I love your videos, by the way.
Coincidentally before I got on here to you tube me and my wife were watching Family Ties. This is amazing, its too bad you cant put the NBC logo on the lower right hand side without the feathers colored in.
For those of us wanting to play along in future demos, just a suggestion - you could make an annotation (overlay) once you upload the clip and give us clues to the words. Other than that minor suggestion, this is stupendous.
WBZ AIRS SCRABBLE AT 11:30 AM INSTEAD OF WIN, LOSE OR DRAW. ( 1987 ) BECAUSE RATINGS FOR THAT SHOW WERE NOT GREAT AT ALL. THEY STUCK WITH CHUCK WOOLERY FOR A FEW MORE SEASONS. Kenneth Huang 6/8/23.
That's a tough question to answer. All of my programs are Flash. To get everything to work properly...well that's programming. I spend a lot of time coding and getting things as close to the show as possible.
Complete with clean Scabble sound effects. Great work!
Severe flashback to 1984! John, all I can say is BRAVO! This is truly amazing work!

Where can we buy this?
The fanfare is playing and the theme is still playing under it.
I'm sorry to hear that... you did a good enough job on this that I honestly could have seen it selling... keep up the awesome work!
I love the sound you hear when a contestant gets all 3 stoppers. That sound was also used to signify that they were going into Speed Word
Appreciate your comments! Thanks! They are A LOT of work, but still fun to do! Some are a challenge!
Which ones were a Challenge pal Johnricci89
If they revive Scrabble, we could see the Hasbro and FremantleMedia logos at the end.

Thanks Phil, it has since been fixed. Thanks for the compliment!

Who was better: Jay Stewart or Charlie Tuna?
***** tuna for sure
+randy foster I remember when it was announced that Jay stewart died and charlie tuna took over his spot
oh wow

BTW, there's a typo at 9:16-- The word supposed to be SPRINT... not "Srint".
so how can we get the game?
I grew up with Scrabble and press your luck playing everyday on USA Network what happened with playing these old episodes everyday?
i grew up with them as well I miss them a lot
I mean when the RG logo pops up i mean did you add the fanfare to it or is it just the original scrabble theme

jricci9 hi, I noticed that many of the scrabble cues and themes are not found online. Do you know if they can be acquired by contacting someone?
Matt, so great to see your comment now that I know who you are! lol I love your channel! What a pleasure to see you're a game show fan. Hope to chat with you someday! John
They are not online...I was able to get many of them from the master copies of the shows I acquired. They aren't publicly available I'm afraid. John
jricci9 ah, you mean you pulled them from the show? So, you don’t have the opening cue free of announcer and audience for example? Thanks

Wonder why there was no $500 payment after Omega

RG music, meaning?

Flash for all the programing. Friend does all the 3d but the game itself is ALL flash!
I absolutely love this!!!! This and Super Password are the best work you've done!! Did you use the RG music on this?
Oh, my goodness. I want to play this SO bad....
Yup, working on a new one right now! ;)

You done Scrabble proud this is great. I have Jay Smith Version and its awesome. Just which we can download but we can't And I fully understand
What is the Jay Smith Version and how did u do it. Would love to know
I have some master episodes on DVD
AWESOME WORK!!!
It's a shame that this kind of talent goes unrewarded...
Couldn't be farther from the truth. I'm richly rewarded in many ways. :)

COOL!!!!!!!!!
1993 contestant intro. Btw I can't see any hints or anything like that.
Ah saw a comment below. nevermind. this is great stuff!
Decided to go classic.
There is an MC side that tells you everything you need to know.
there you go! i love it!

You should do a Flash Version of TRUMP CARD.
