Introducing the Daido Moriyama Reading Room at The Photographers' Gallery.

Clare Grafik, Head of Exhibitions at The Photographers' Gallery gives an introduction to the Reading Room which sits at the very heart of our current Daido Moriyama: A Retrospective show and talks about the new edition of Provoke magazine.
As Clare explains, for Moriyama, the photo book was the focus of his work. One floor of the Gallery has been transformed into a reading room - a dedicated space offering a rare opportunity to spend time with his legendary publications where visitors can sit and read or flick through his books; an important part of the overall experience.
Showing until 11 February 2024, Daido Moriyama: A Retrospective is the first UK retrospective of a photographer who has defined the style of an entire generation and transformed the way we see photography.

Daido Moriyama: A Retrospective is the product of a three-year research period, and is one of the most comprehensive exhibitions ever mounted of this artist’s work. It is organised by Instituto Moreira Salles in cooperation with the Daido Moriyama Photo Foundation.
