Man, this video made me realize that the only thing I'm certain about in my life at the moment is that I want to keep blading forever. I don't know where I'll be 10, 20, 30 years down the line, but I know that I'll still have wheels under my feet and I know I'll still be shredding. Blading gives me life, it gives me the strength to keep going. I don't know what I'd do without my blades.
I know what you mean man. Just started blading again after 13 somewhat years. You know life... and blading just died here. Just started again after all this time with a friend. I'm 39 now. feels like I'm finally living again.
At thirteen I thought the same thing. I kept blading until eighteen but slowly moved away from what I loved most. University, work, things in ordinary life. Almost twenty years later (and over 20 pounds more kkkk) and after spinal surgery (ALIF), I'm back. I always kept a pair of skates with me, even in idle time, and always thinking about how much I loved this sport and how many fantastic moments it brought me. There were times when I didn't even know if I could stand up again, but I'm here, 37 and counting. And if the universe allows it, now I say, I will never stop blading again. This video also reminded me of all this time. Cheers! (English is not my first language)
I started again at 32, stopped when I was 17. My girlfriend is responsible, she was always asking to see me skate so i decided to boot up and show her, that was last year and im still going strong now. Its funny but i never forgot how to do the tricks, just kinda stuck with me all these years. Sadly the local park is always empty so its always a solo skate session.
So funny how many of us old timers are getting back into it. I’ve read so many comments with the same thing. “I’m just getting back into it after many years being away”. I don’t remember why I stopped but I wish I hadn’t. Because I was GOOD. lol.
This is one of the best videos on Rollerblading I've ever seen. Dom West is an amazing artist and this video really captured the spirit of blading imo.
This was awesome to watch. I'm 32, and I hadn't skated in about 10 years. But, it was a huge part of my life throughout my teenage years and early twenties. It's funny, because even while I wasn't skating, I still watched skate videos pretty much every day, and I still thought about handrails and ledges as skate spots. The more I reflect on it, the more I realize how important it was in terms of creativity, building community, and learning about progression. I've been putting on the skates much more frequently as of late (which is a lot easier these days as there are a few skateparks close to where I live). A lot of the ideas mentioned in this video really resonate with me. Thanks for this one!
"the industry isn't here...but the Talent is...something pure about that." on the nail dude...!! From the heart....culture is king....keep it up yo!!!!!
Keep watching so many roller skate videos brining back some great memories of my teenage life, hitting the parks after school enjoying the free feeling inline skating gave you. Still have my Valo skates so I can take my kids out blading in the not to distant future
39 years old. At that point where my body tells me I can absolutely skate. I’m still spry, quick, and balanced… but logic tells me it’s hopeless: it’s over. This inspires me to go for it. Jon is one of the best to do it, so I always have to remember that… but he’s in his 40’s, and still shredding. Can’t wait to regain that momentum.
Nice video. Captures the vibe and '90's nostalgia.... "thank you to Bill & Barb Manly Blades team" - where I bought my first skates (RB Lightning) 30 years ago. Who'd have thought scooters would outnumber us now despite the message painted on the skate bowl.
Yew Manly bowl. Where I bladed as a teenager around ‘00. Who would of thought looking up to those guys back then like they were “older guys”. 20 years has gone by and they’re only in their 40s and still ripping. I gave it away long ago! Who else spotted those photos of the old Chatswood interchange rails!!!??? Nostalgia.
Rollerblading, skateboarding, scootering, BMXing: if it's done boldly, with full commitment, and with hours of joyful organic practice behind it, it's always going to look good.
Three people of three hundred sixty thinks that 👎 means 👍, awesome work!!! Congrats Dom, Jon and every blader and people involved. You have created something historical for the rollerblading community and like a short film documentary, it reflects as never before the feeling of what we do, thanks to Jon for expressing it that way ♥️
Absolutely fantastic snapshot of a legend's thoughts on a legendary place in our history. The cinematographic choices made all around are really something Don!
i love blading , it honestly excites me I love how in some way i can express my emotions through blading . it’s all about what makes you happy and what you love doing ! no matter what others say . but blading is a forever thing for me
What we all feel well expressed, a great job that reflects very well the depth of what we do. As happens to an artist and his work, based on hard work one day he realizes that it is already art. We get together to get tricks but this has become much bigger than this and than us. Rollerblading saved my life.
This skating video is so excellent, human emotion captured. Taking it deeper with the past, present, and future perspectives. i love it. I kinda want to move to AUS now lol.
Wow, I am impressed to see there is still so much passion in his blading! Great video! Talking about Australian skaters, I'm wondering whether Tim Ward is still blading?
Good stuff. Repping the culture over here from New Zealand, where it is so hard for the opinion to be changed on skating... The only way is to show them! - skatscool nz on FB
I still have my Jon Julio Thrones from 1998 or 1999 don't remember exactly. Just unreal seeing him still going like this.

Straight the fuck up brother bod
That cheeky little smile after Julio says ‘it’s even better if you’re skating right!?’. Uh, feeeeeeeeeeels! ✌️+❤️

I used to roll Roces Fifths with Tom Fry Cozmo wheels at the Manly Bowl.. '97-'98.. This brought all that back, thank you.. :)
the whole vibe and feel of this video is perfect. brilliant. thanks for making this.

Looked like Cesar Mora at the end of this video I remember him doing crazy 900s on very ramps when people were impressed with 540s.
Thanks Jon this was so needed. I'm homeless and would love to roll again.

Jon Julio is the best person to lead rollerblading as a whole 🙏🏽❤️
Damn. So good to see Tom Fry! Truly a legend in the sport.
I remember meeting him back in 2002 so glad to see him still doing it. I'm still doing it as well it's a passion and it's my life

"blue" was ugly and boring, but this is really deserves like!
And you deserve a dislike from that comment my friend lol
Blue was awesome as well
4everhumbl3 too long and similar, which is not acceptable for my opinion. And too many slow motions.
Blue was beautiful. If you just want to see tricks watch any youtube clip. This man makes films.
ты-то куда...
Very cool
