Zum einhundertjährigen Geburtstag führte die Schnellzugdampflok 310.23 im Juni 2011 einen Zug von Wien in die Wachau.
Die Lok ist ein Meisterwerk des weltbekannten österreichischen Konstrukteurs Karl Gölsdorf (1861-1916). Die Lok hat ein Vierzylinder-Verbundtriebwerk mit 6 Treibrädern von je 2,14 m Durchmesser.

Herrlich die,,Kaiserin,, der Dampflok's noch einmal so sehen zu dürfen.. Durfte,,SIE, in Wien bestaunen.. Aber so in der Wachau. Herrlich, da kommen all die Erinnerungen an die Wachau wieder, seis auf der Dürnsteiner Burgruine oben, oder die Burg Klamm.... Die 310 habe ich im damaligen Jubiläumsjahr 1987 in Wien-Praterstern und etwas später bei der Durchfahrt in Wien-Strandbäder erleben können. War schon damals begeistert von diesem Schmuckstück einer Lokomotive.
