That was a cool vid , I`m born and raised in Halifax and still live here . My family have been here since 1749 maybe a little longer , still doing research . I`m 53 and still learning about this city , it`s an amazing little place .

When you were talking about 84 and said that those buildings are still there you were wrong unfortunately. I just need to let you know that it’s now our central library with a big parking lot in the back. Look up Halifax central library and you will see how cool the new building is!

It is Fort George not Saint George's Fort. Most people now refer to it as the Citadel.

That’s Agricola St at 7:20 FYI sorry if someone already pointed that out

Neat history behind the name too. If I'm not mistaken, it was thr pen name used by someone who wrote into a local paper arguing for more local agriculture projects.

    OK.
It's not St. George's Fort. It's Fort George.
    Engine house = fire station.
Ordnance yard. No, they weren't firing guns & cannons from there. It's where they took cannon off & on ships. It's where they repaired the guns. Storage.
No. 25 is St Paul's Cemetery, also known as The Old Burying Ground. The monument you see is the Sevastopol Monument honouring two soldiers from Halifax -- Parker & Welsford -- who were killed in the Crimean War.
    Riverboats?
Agricola St. Agric-ola. Named after a Roman emperor who was big into farming. It's where we get the word "agriculture" from.

I used to live on Kent St and on Barrington St. #25 is the Old Burying Grounds.

Oh it also should be said that the arch at the entrance to the graveyard is a monument to the Crimean War; the only monument for that war in all of North America.

#25 they used to hang people there & its so built up down there it'd be hard to metal detect the good spots, plus the Halifax explosion scattered everything so I'm dying to metal detect down around there

78 Ordinance yard. This is an area to store and do maintenance work on ordinance not to fire guns!
