I mean, the official subtitles translated it to swears, plus I know that at the very least there ARE some words that are bleeped, as I've heard in other songs. Are those bleeped for a culturally different reason than swear words, or what?@@Tekkie347
@@JoelTheParrot sometimes words that aren't swears in Japanese get translated as swears because it's the closest match, like くそ which often gets translated as sh!t while not being particularly vulgar in Japanese. Some words like 死ね get bleeped because they're considered very rude, like in king and people allergy which censors it in the written lyrics
I absolutely believe the idea that non-swears get translated as swears as I probably should've clarified, after all stuff like the Mario anime and the Kirby anime is translated with swears which like... I don't think the cultural equivalent to whatever they're saying would be swears considering it's kids media loool What's the separation between a "very rude" word that gets censored, and a swear word (which is considered very rude) that gets censored? I'm sure there is one considering you listed them as different but I'm curious about the specifics :)@@Tekkie347
@@JoelTheParrot 死ね is just a modified version of 死ぬ, and it's more of a very extreme insult then a swear word, though i am not actually 100% sure myself tbh. I forgot to mention that Japanese has slurs and words about s3x which are also censored often
