    Bought a cute 3 globe track light from Lowe’s. Installed it and worked on it the whole day - no light! Finally stopped for the day - frustrated and exhausted. Decided to watch your video. THANK YOU - THANK YOU - THANK YOU! Nothing you taught me was in packing instructions - they were useless! Looks Great AND works! 71 year old Granny

    Thank-you for the detailed video. Well done. I have been doing a bit of research to find replacement fixtures for two low voltage halogen (M16, 50W) track fixture assemblies I have had for years. They're both 2 - wire. The fixtures are mixed-type on both...but work. One device has the rotary locking bar...one requires the whole fixture/device to be inserted and rotated 90 degrees for a spring clip to engage. So, I guess I'm asking if JT and LT 2-wire heads are interchangeable? JT's are supposed to measure about 15/16" across the fixture pins, while LT's are supposed measure about 13/16" across the pins. I'm guessing you've gone through this before and am hoping I could benefit from your experience. Thank-you for your time should you be able to reply.

      Thank you for your feedback! Glad you like the video 🙂 Unfortunately, we do not sell the JT or LT track lighting styles so we are not familiar with the interchangeability of the fixtures 😞

    Thanks for the help. Really good video presentation. I had no idea I could pull down on the fixture to allow turning and removal/replacement. Thanks again, Ron

    I'm working with 2 pin type tracking/lighting, so hoping I can find a little more information on that, and a link to additional lights, where LED's can be installed, rather than the halogen currently in my father in laws garage. He is legally blind, and seeing 'pins' is near impossible, so a screw in bulb (E26 I believe they're called) would be much easier for him, or even myself when I'm over for a visit.

      Here is a link to popular track lighting styles that might help in determining what type he has www.totaltracklighting.com/popular-track-lighting-styles.html - hopefully this will help 🙂

      There are many variables in why track lighting may not work. Always check to make sure there's power to the track lighting system. Double check your light source, lamp / light bulb, to make sure it works. Double check your track light fixture to make sure it works. Make sure the track is not spread apart and that the track fixture is making contact with the internal power track buss bars are some easy ways to troubleshoot lighting problems 🙂

    Are there ever issues where the bus bars break some how? I have a track that doesn't seem to have a connection towards the end of it, and I can't find replacement bus bars

    • @Totallightingsupply
      @Totallightingsupply  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      We haven't heard of a broken buss bar but I guess anything is possible depending on what forces have been applied to it. Another possibility is that one of the buss bars is shorter then the rest due to either a manufacture defect in the length or thickness of the buss bar, if the track was customized and something happened to the buss bar, track fixture has a defect causing the track to spread slightly more than another fixture, etc . . . The only way to know would be to take the track down and make sure all the buss bars are aligning correctly and are the correct lengths and trying different track fixtures that work in the same location. Hope that helps 🙂

    Help! I can not get the cover to pull down to be able to remove the fixture. Any ideas? Thanks

      Maybe some lubricant can be applied to loosen the locking cover 🙂

    1. Lithonia Lighting could have improved the design by marking with a label on the track to show two pins and one pin sides instead of someone peeking inside the track while standing on the ladder with no lights.
    2. At 2:09, you would see a mark (called Ground Indicator) where the stem and shroud join. This indicator side has two pins (one of them is ground). This is only helpful as a reference if you are installing subsequent bulbs if the first one is installed correctly and working fine
    3. To remove a faulty bulb, the shroud should be pulled gently (or pushing the stem up and pulling the shroud down to avoid ripping the track off the ceiling), and twisted 90 degrees either direction
    4. To install a new bulb, make sure where the two pins side is on the track and two pins side is on the bulb (or the Ground Indicator as mentioned above) . The bulb can be installed in two ways (Please remember Step # 2 above)
    a. As this video said, put the bulb in the track, pull the shroud and twist the bulb 90 degrees so that the two pins sides on the bulb meets the two pins side on the track.
    b. As "SamFixit Guy" commented below, put the bulb in the track, push the bulb towards the ceiling so that the shroud is pushed down automatically and twist the bulb 90 degrees so that the two pins sides on the bulb meets the two pins side on the track. I prefer this method as it uses ONLY ONE HAND to do

    I was so disappointed my lights didn't work when I first installed them, but it was simply pins not lining up. Just because you can turn the fixture, with a 90 degrees doesn't mean it lines up correctly. In my case, need to pull back the spring push up and then turn, and they all worked. I hope this helps someone else.

    I have a rather irrelevant question. I have a power supply board from the inside of an LED track light. Ya know how each light has its own little board? Well, I can't figure out the stats or what it does lol. ID numbers do not return any good information as it was made in china.
    I assume its an ac-dc converter of some type, but my cheap multimeter is having trouble reading it. The led says it is 12v dc ... but my meter only reads like 2 volts. I cant get an amp measurement... I assume because the conversion to low voltage jacks up the amps so its outside the range of my meter? IDK... I'm a green horn lol.
    Point being, I'm hoping it will provide 12v with a super high amperage. If so, I was going to try it out for electrowinning copper. I know it's easier to just buy a bench unit/power supply... I'm just trying to be creative and save a good $300 in the process lol.
    Do you know anything about these tracklight led boards?

    • @Totallightingsupply
      @Totallightingsupply  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately, we do not. There are so many LED track fixtures in the market that we would have to carry each brand for us to know in order to better troubleshoot the issue. I would try contacting the manufacture or the place you purchased. It maybe covered under warranty as many are.

    What if all the contacts (pins) line up and it still doesn't work? Bulb works and other fixtures on the track also works.

    • @bizango99
      @bizango99 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      By the way I also get the little arc on the neutral pin when I insert it onto the track, so I think it's getting powered all pins are making contact

    • @Totallightingsupply
      @Totallightingsupply  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bizango99 Sounds like the fixture maybe the source of the problem and may need to be replaced.
