The George of the Jungle trailer used to scare me when I was little. Ironically, when it came out, it was the first movie I ever saw in a theater. However, being only 3 years old at the time, I fell asleep, and didn't see the whole movie until it came out on VHS.

@@supermariof0521 Well, first of all, it's "too" as in "also". Not "two" as in the number. You need to work on your grammar. Secondly, the George of the Jungle trailer scared me because of the dark backgrounds, the deep-voice narrator, George's screams, and the big gorilla.

My Grandfather who lives in Florida he absolutely hates this movie because he thinks they are hunting animals to mean and notice that they don’t use dogs to hunt deer and my great grandmother God Rest Her Soul had this had on VHS and I never got a chance to watch it until We got Disney Plus
I remember having the VHS of this Film
The last full-length animated feature made by Walt Disney until Cinderella. The gap was due to the lack of film workers (who were in military service) and materials necessary to make films when WWII was going on. Donnie Dunagan kept his role of Young Bambi quiet while in the Marines, as he feared he would pick up the nickname "Bambi". He would have a remarkable career in the service, becoming the youngest drill instructor in its' history, rising to the rank of Major and serving in the Vietnam War where he would be decorated for valour and wounded three times. In December 2018, a Missourian poacher was sentenced to one year in prison for illegally killing deer for trophies. As part of his penalty, he was required to watch this movie once a month. Six-year-old Peter Behn auditioned with several other children for the voice roles of Mother Rabbit's children. When Behn said the line (in reference to Bambi), "Did the young prince fall down?", a casting director who was watching the audition in another room shouted, "Get that kid out of here! He can't act!" However, the Disney animators who heard the audition tape loved the sound of Behn's voice. Behn was called back to the studio, and the character of Thumper was created largely based on his vocal performance. The movie lost money at the box office for the first run, but began to recoup its considerable cost (over $2,000,000) during the 1947 re-release. "Bambi" premiered August 8, 1942 in London - a very daring move in the midst of war - and a few days later in New York. Despite glowing reviews, it was an initial box office disappointment. This prompted Disney to re-release Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in the summer of 1944, a tactic that the studio regularly adopts now for all their animated features. There are approximately only 1,000 words of dialogue throughout the entire film then the rest is all silence. Felix Salten, the creator of Bambi, sold the film rights to the original novel for only $1,000 dollars. In the original novel, Bambi is a roe deer but these aren't native to North America so Walt Disney changed him to a mule deer.
About 3 years ago, I came to feel that Bambi is the most flawless Animated film that Walt himself produced. I think much of that has to do with the fact that work did not progress fast because Walt wanted deer to look realistic. It is also the most timeless because since it only focuses on forest life and doesn’t show much tech and architecture, it is more difficult to pin an exact timeframe for the movie. It also moves at a great pace and has very little filler. It is very high on my list of Disney movies.

There was a mistake in the George Of The Jungle teaser. Don Lafontaine should have been the announcer instead the other guy because in the theatrical trailer and VHS trailer, Don Lafontaine talked in those trailers.

I watch Bambi 1997 VHS at our house when I was young.
So was I, back in my old days. I loved it.
Anyone notice how on the Bambi VHS, the THX logo says Digitally Mastered, but on other Masterpiece Collection VHS tapes that were THX certified, the logo says Lucasfilm LTD?
That's cause this VHS was the first overall Disney VHS release to be THX certified, they didn't had their own special variant till a few months later.
1997 was the second year for Bambi to be released on VHS

These days she's no where to be found
Disney had to remove Esmeralda from the regular meet and greets because guests kept sexually harassing the cast members that would play her. That, and the fact that Hunchback of Notre Dame wasn't as popular as they hoped it would be (though I love the film). The actors who played Tarzan at the Disney Parks faced similar levels of sexual harassment.
At 1:58-1:59, I think I heard a cat scream.
