    For anyone with throat pain: Remember to inflate your diaphragm like a balloon when you inhale, and when you go to sing, deflate your balloon by flattening your stomach. Another thing to keep in mind is to let your tongue rest at the bottom of your mouth and open your mouth wide, like a dentist is checking out your tonsils :) I did this for the first time today and it makes a huge difference! (Also, do warm up exercises before doing anything that's going to push the limits of your voice!)

Consciously think of using ur chest voice and you’d be surprised how much range you actually gain from this. Hope this helps

    • @frances6091
      @frances6091 3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      I'm hitting these notes relatively easily with my upper mix-- it's taking more concentration than strain for me. If you haven't found your mix yet, I definitely wouldn't try straining to hit these with your chest! I know very little, but from the way this feels in my throat, I'd guess that the higher piano notes are there for people who want to bring some chesty resonance to a nasally and thin mixed voice (like me). There is no way I'd be able to hit these notes and sound good in my chest voice, so don't strain!

      Work first on your breath,open throat and vowel + vowel modification , then lows , then chest in general,then head,then you can train mix.But obvyously it also depends on your vocal problems.

    I didn't even know I had a whole octave or so of chest voice until I started these exercises! At first, it was so laborious and I couldn't control the low notes and it kept jumping to the comfort of the lower soprano notes that felt easy. But now it feels so natural to sing in chest voice when called for. But I still hate diving down to chest voice from great soprano heights. Going up is OK. God Ng down feels scary. Must be my "acrophobia" (fear of heights) at play....Must overcome it.

      Sing from the diaphragm not the belly. Fill your back up with air first and then the rest will follow.. Exercise: jog, sit ups, take a deep breathe and hold as long as you can and release it slowly as if you are breathing from a straw. This will build your stamina, diaphragm,, and your breathe control

That’s exactly where I started and after a month I started to specialise my sessions in chest, head, mixed voice and tone. I started last June from 0 and Just like you, I do it every other day, and now I’ve even released my first song! This is to say that if you put the work you’ll make it! Just trust the process! Week 20 UPDATE:
    *sorry to inform y'all but looks like I'm not going to do any range extensions exercises anymore. Cannot afford to blow into a straw EVERY SINGLE DAY. I know I didn't do the range extensions exercises for a long time anyway but it's because of how much school work I have to do. But don't worry, even if I don't do the exercises I still do warm ups regulary and sing some songs to improve without exercises. Also I will still do some other exercises sometimes from this channel or from others. But otherwise I think if I stop being lazy and do these exercises I would improve faster. That doesn't make me not improve tho, I do see minor improvements from weeks to weeks.
    So, the markings are pretty much still the same, but with only one (chest voice exercises) and not two since I won't try to do range extensions everyday now.*
