My accuracy in VARC is very low,it is around 60%. And in quant section i get around 6-7 correct and 1 to 2 incorrect. I am unable to attend beyond 10 questions in quant section.
This is a common issue that many people face. You can improve by practising and solving more questions in between two mocks. Roughly to get one more question correct, you need to solve around 100 questions in between mocks. That is the only way to improve speed.
How can I increase attempt rate in VARC? I am not able to attend beyond 16 questions (either 2RC+8VA or 3RC+4VA). My accuracy is around 75%, so i am scoring the same 25-35 in all Dashcats.
Firstly, your attempt rate is decent. Do two things to improve your attempt rate. a) Read more articles daily. You can get good articles to read every day here: cracku.in/cat-daily-articles b) Ensure that you start off the section strong by sitting at your laptop 10 mins before starting the sectional/mock and mediating.

Sir even tho I’ve completed whole quant syllabus apart from number system I’m still not able to make 5 questions right . With last 60 days I’m horrified of what I should do regarding quants ?!! . What can I do?
Hi bro even I am facing this issue actually and i realized that, when we complete entire syllabus and know to solve all type of problems (arithmetic, algebra, and all) we start to solve the whole damn paper from question1 and go on, but when u know only arithmetic and number system we start solving only that questions by searching the entire paper, even after scoring 99.6ile in quants in 2023 CAT im consistently scoring less than 20 in mocks in quants, cause last year I read only 2 topics that was arithmetic and number system so I hunted down those questions only and solved those only. So leverage your stregth and get to know which topic specifically you can solve with high accuracy, then it helps to elevate your marks.
@@ONLYFunswithJay bro you will still score this year my scores are fucked up I can’t even get 5 question correct !!! And exam is nearing even tho this is my second attempt I think I’ll fuck UP this attempt
I think u r just completing syllabus by solving some questions. It’s not necessary. U have to build strong conceptual clarity so that u can answer any questions even if they try to trap you . That is the thing …. I hope u get it …..!
love Cracku mocks but I really want to enquire about the VARC section, particularly in the headstart mocks and sectionals! I somehow find the Cracku VARC section very weird & I've noticed that my scores fluctuate a lot (it's my strength and I usually score 40+) Varc in Dashcats is still doable & very similar to the actual CAT paper. I thought Headstart mocks were easier than Dashcats but surprisingly, I scored a lot higher in Dashcats than Headstarts and it was all because of my score in VARC!!
Exactly I am also giving headstart and I am not able to go beyond 15 in varc it is really tricky don't know about dashcat as I have not given but headstart varc is really difficult
First of all fluctuating varc scores is pretty much expected , I have tried 3 sectionals up untill now with cracku(just bought them yesterday and got like ,20 ,24 and 31) the thing with them is ,when you analyze it ,you'll realize they are overly punishing you on the basis of you losing attention for that minisecond ,so to improve you ought to have a really solid strategy on what you're good at the start and at the end and how you attack it ,reduce your attempts for the first 2 sectionals and look for how long you need to get the RIGHT answer(very important), then make a strategy on that data and then attack it on the 3rd one to improve that time ,i noticed they do not have that difficult of a language or that dense of an rc's, it'll be the cr questions ,the given options and those filthy fill in the blanks(va) which would fuck you up ,
@@Whatdoievenwriteherebruh I agree!! My attempts have definitely gone down but see, here's what I've noticed - if you take any previous year paper and look at the RCs, the options usually follow a pattern with 2 very irrelevant options that are either out of scope or too broad and only 2 options that are actually close, relevant and confusing. However, in cracku sectionals, all 4 options (more often than not) appear correct yet distorted at the same time! So it basically becomes a choice between options that are 60/70/80% accurate or distorted which forces you to overthink all the options (this is sometimes dangerous because when I attempt an actual PYP, I think more than what's required now 🥲) Before I started taking cracku mocks, I'd attempt 20 questions easily with an 80% accuracy but here, it's getting difficult to even score a 30 🥲 Also like Sayali ma'am says, VA has a lot of subjectivity so accuracy in VA tends to be low for everyone! Nonetheless, loving the mocks!! QA & DILR is top notch
@pratichie1892 always use cat questions and cat papers(from 2020) as your benchmark but realize that if the paper were to be tough by let's say 20% ,your marks can fall more then 20% ,so prepare yourself with these sectionals in mind ,these sectionals are 30 to 35ish% tougher then cat 23 so yes they are REALLY tough but they're more fun then not ,they make you go in a frenzied pretty smartly which cat papers try to do as well just not so aggressively !, Also i personally think va answers are definitely written in stone(other then summaries maybe) ,rc's answers are actually very subjective however logically, va questions are usally paragraphs taken from somewhere and then modified to make it easier or tougher , the core and the chronology(in the terms of amit shah) remains the same !,, with rc's the answer CAN be a and b and c and d depending on what the options are or what type of trauma did the question setter go through(the worse the trauma the more confusing of an answer and option)
Hi, we started a series of 100 day series, where we are mentioning tips for different sections, mock scores and also some tips regarding the exams. Do check them out. They will be released everyday at 6:30 in the evening.
Are the dashcat mocks more difficult than Headstart or vice versa? I've been scoring more in dashcat rather than headstart since past couple of mocks surprisingly.
DashCATs are more difficult than headstart mocks. But not all DashCATs are difficult, some are difficult and some are easy. We give them such way so our students will get used to any type of paper they get in the final exam.
We are trying to keep the Quant section on par with CAT 2023. The CAT paper, unfortunately, is getting tougher and tougher every year. This is clear from the marks to percentile comparison over the years. So, it is better to be prepared for a tough paper.
Sir in varc sometimes I score good .... sometimes I score like really bad ...and sometimes rc are good sometimes verbal ...and while analysing i get many questions correct ....I don't understand how to improve this
Fluctuations in VARC are common. Focus on consistency by practicing both RC and Verbal regularly. During analysis, note why you miss in mocks and apply those learnings. Keep practicing!
sir I am struggling with accuracy in VARC especially in verbal and I was able to attend 2 CCs and 6 to 7 verbal questions with accuracy. Is it effective to read more and more aeon essay at this point of time or should I practise More and more questions? I practise from CRACKU daily targets and sectionals.
You are at high time of your CAT preparation. In these last few days, try to practice more sets and analyse them where you are going wrong and try not to do the mistakes again. Attempt mocks and check which type of questions or what you are doing mistakes and try to practice those similar sets. We also made many sorts on the tips for VARC. Do check them out. Check out our videos th-cam.com/video/jyeXA1EzuoY/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/u4QEhKMx5CU/w-d-xo.html All the best.
I am not able to solve even a single set in dilr in last few sets, previous year also same thing happened in the exam. Even though i know concepts and able to do past year quest and practice questions in dilr but in mock i am not able to do the set
Hi, DILR is a section which many people find difficult to tackle. That is also the reason why you will get 95 percentile above if you can atleast finish just 1 full set in the DILR section. And the only way to improve that section is practicing more and getting used to solving many diverse sets. You can check the strategy for DILR section th-cam.com/video/iYbEfYUMQq4/w-d-xo.html which you will find help full in your preparation. Please do check it out.
sir, i attempted cracku free varc sectional. i found ot an rc more than 600+ words. rc in cat is around 480-520 words, i understand the point of mocks being tougher, but why the rc is longer ? tough questions would have been enough. i'm not criticizing, just wish to learn the reason behind it? as in cat i would wanna attempt all rcs, i won't leave any, may leave some questions though. but if i attempted that rc in mock it would have guzzled a lot of time. and hence i wouldn't be able to read all rcs. please explain, it's a request.
Hi, Not all RC's are of the same length. The CAT RC's length is somewhere around 500-600 words. Its not guaranteed that it will be less than 520 words. We sometimes give longer RC's so that our students will not be surprised in the exam if they get some longer RC's.
If you are not taking a job that same year it will be considered as a gap year in the interview but actually it will not at all be a problem in the interview. You can say that i was interested in the CAT Exam and decided to give CAT exam this year itself. The panel members won't actually find any fault with that. So, it won't effect your individual PI score. So get a high CAT score and prepare well for the interview. All the best.
Daily targets are only from Monday to Friday. You can take mock exams on the weekends. Check out Cracku free mocks and our DashCAT series which are said to be of the same difficulty as the CAT exam. All the best.

To improve your reading comprehension for CAT, focus on active reading by pausing after each paragraph to mentally summarize the key points and structure. This helps with retention and reduces confusion during questions. While reading, make annotations by underlining important points or mentally marking key arguments, examples, and tone shifts. This makes it easier to refer back when answering questions. When tackling questions, use question mapping-try to recall which part of the passage the question refers to and match it to the relevant section instead of re-reading the entire passage. For answer elimination, focus on ruling out obviously incorrect options before selecting the best one, which narrows your choices and minimizes confusion between similar answers. Build reading stamina by regularly reading dense editorials from sources like The Hindu or The Economist, as this will help make CAT RC passages feel easier over time. Practice mindfully by reviewing mistakes after each RC to identify common errors, whether from misunderstanding the passage or the question, and focus on improving them. In mocks, start by attempting a few RC questions with an emphasis on accuracy, and gradually increase your attempts as your confidence builds.
How can I increase attempt rate in VARC? I am not able to attend beyond 16 questions (either 2RC+8VA or 3RC+4VA). My accuracy is around 75%, so i am scoring the same 25-35 in all Dashcats.
