Although this is a good effort to make familiar with the test but there are many issues with the test that is shown here. First of all, the gauge length is not as per IS 1608 i.e. 5.65x(rootC/S area). Second issue is, the rod is slipping from jaw due to which result may differ. Third issue is, the failure pattern should be cup and cone failure for mild steel but it is looking like failure of a brittle material. Hope, you will take the suggestions positively.
