What is beautiful about Plushenko and his skating is how he shows all this with an overwhelming energy... teaching all of us that although the path may be difficult, you cannot leave it and you must go on trying to achieve your goals and create your destiny!

They'll find their honesty, they'll find their awe at what be brought to the world, when the mediocre and exploitative decide they are comfortable with recognising his genius, his gifts, that combined to make him unmatched at the time, unrivalled since. (And the changes in men's figure skating, no skater will have the chance to be like him.) Genuine renaissance man. Its hurtful to hear how he pushed himself to prove and prove and prove himself, driven to earn his triumphs, no charity required, and skating kept trying to pretend he was just one of many.

He would have paralyzed and even just trying made injuries progress everywhere. His tribute to Chopin was very emotional but we can see his arm was hanging dead most of the time. It was hurtful, 1 month later a cirvical disk hernia was found and a few months later he couldnt use he was semi-parlized of it. And he was not competing with the most difficult elements ! Yes, team gold, it was very courageous. he is human as he reminds, and did his best. That is why is a champion, because when he couldnt he stopped then came back as a champion. If he had not tried when very injured such as in 2005 with his double-goinr hernia, just to end up withdrawing after he would have not destroyed his body so much. But given the horrible conditions of poverty he was in he probably had bone and ligament issues. Yet unlike many many other athletes and big surgeries that damage people even those who like him could afford known surgeons, he still practices, good body and dances superbly. THAT is a being a champion.
