I like Dillingham because he’s not a 5 star diva guy. Everything he says on recruiting, he never mentions ranking or stars and there’s been multiple reports of him just being straight up with people. He told Skattebo in the offseason he will not make it to the NFL and needed to get leaner and faster. Most guys would leave, Skatt took it to heart and came back as a top RB. He also gave Leavitt a legit shot in the QB battle with Rashada which led to Rashada leaving to be QB3 at Georgia while Leavitt has been great all year. Herm was going after all these big time recruits and there was all types of locker room drama and no accountability. Dillingham seems to keep that accountability, finds his guys, while keeping the locker room positive

Arizona kind of got screwed by the departure of Jed Fisch for Washington. Still, even as a die hard bear-down-for-life Wildcats fan, who’s normally all “fuck the Devils”…I wish ASU well. This is one of the best seasons a college football team from the state of Arizona has ever had, and if they win the Natty, it will be the first time since the Diamondback’s World Series victory in ‘01 that the city of Phoenix (and indeed, the state as a whole) has won a major title. With the exception of the WNBA with the Mercury, the Rattlers of the Arena league, and Arizona MBB in the 90/, out sports history has been defined by either poor play or “close but no cigar” (the Suns have been to the Finals 3 TIMES and we managed to lose all three. The Cardinals 1 trip to the Super Bowl is too painful to bring up). Our sports teams have needed a W for a long time now, so in spite of my deep hatred for the Devils, I still hope they light a fire (a hellfire, if you will) under the asses of the College Football Elite

Thanks for sending us some love, but I would have appreciated a bit more research, some things I noticed: -We were not one of the bottom teams this year we were last place picked -Jayden didn't have a bad season in 2020, we only played 4 games -skipped the herm Edwards firing after emu midseason and the Shaun aguano interiem period -Forgot that kenny coached Jordan Travis at FSU but remembered that he was at memphis? -really should have provided a better explanation of the sam leavitt transfer and his overlook by Jonathan Smith who went from Oregon State to mich State and how Kenny was recruiting Sam leavitt at FSU as his top choice. -Got the Florida schools mixed up -The quarterback issue from last year was due to injuries, not lack of talent. -Forgot leavitt breaking his ribs and missing the Cincinnati game
Of course Kenny comes from the newly minted Lanning coaching tree. He is going to do great at ASU, it is his alma mater. And us Oregon fans are proud of our former OC. Now go out there and make the former PAC proud ASU. I will be backing you, unless for some reason we make it to face each other.
Funny maybe but honestly not unrealistic ASU has a bunch of momentum is coming in on a winning streak has great balance and also is playin wit a bit of house money cause pretty much no one thought they were getting to this point so if they lose it won't be considered a disappointment or anything like that of the teams In right now I don't think anyone wants to play Oregon, Georgia, or Arizona st.
Something of note, Rashada transferred out after spring ball competing against Leavitt. One of our most trusted reporters said that Rashada left because he didn't think he would win the job
Proud! ASU was very good football team back then 1990s. We lost huge oppotunities due to bad management and recuiting fails. Now, we know...and ready to fly. Defying gravity!!! Let's go!!
Any other coach could have easily turned Arizona State around, but chances are they would have jumped ship the moment a more “prestigious” program came calling (Jedd Fisch from rival Arizona for example). Being an alumnus himself, I can’t think of any coach more passionate and loyal about his team than Kenny Dillingham is. In retrospect, this might be seen as one of the greatest hires in college football history.
The team was not expected to win 5 or 6, it was an expectation to maybe win 3. They also lost Elijah Badger to the portal before this season. Kenny is COTY.
Funny thing I have always looked at Arizona State the very first game I watched from beginning to end was the Rose Bowl when they played Michigan the Sun Devils won 22-15 but I was a big Jim hardbaugh fan
MSU fan here: Levitt played, just not much. Shame our staff was just utterly incompetent. (Thanks Mel) Levitt flashed in his opportunities and there was no reason he wasn’t the starter. He’s a future Rd 1 guy!
Impossible nah? You just have to make the right hire and build with recruiting AND the portal. Kenny’s passion is front and center and guys want to come play for that and build something that isn’t your normal “Georgia” or “Alabama”.
"No one in their right mind" thought they could do well? Lost Rashada in the portal? No man within 20 seconds I can tell you don't know what you're talking about. Rashada left because he got beat out by Leavitt. ASU was bad last year because they offensive line was so hurt they couldn't practice or kick field goals. They also had so many QB injuries that they were starting a TE and a RB at QB. Anyone who paid even a little bit of attention would have predicted a significantly better season than 2023. 4.5 win total was a joke. Picked 16th in the big 12 was a joke. If people even did like 1 hour of homework preseason that would have been obvious.
Great video! but a small correction and clarification. Sam Leavitt was brought in before Rashada transferred, and the rumors out of spring practice were that Leavitt was going to get the starting job over Rashada, so he was more inclined to transfer.
I can forgive the name pronunciations from years past, but at this point not knowing how to pronounce Cam Skattebo (Skattaboo) is criminal, literally every media personality is saying he needs to be considered for the Heisman
Obviously what ASU did wasn't impossible, as they did it. The key to success is: each man doing their job, taking it one play at a time, including believing that you can.
I’m a sipp state fan and when we played Arizona state I told my brother who’s a texas fan they would play ASU in the playoffs.. It’s crazy I called it in september..They’re a very tough team..Hope texas beats clemson tho
I don't know where you get your information but Sam played in 2 games at MSU. Started one game. His stats were 15-23 2/2 139 yards. 13 carries 67 yards.
Everyone. Is a key player. In the rise and success. Of the Arizona Sun Devils Football Team. There is not, one player. That stands above another looking down. Now don't get me wrong though. There are players, that stand out, more than others. But that's because. They're the ones, that we see in the end zone all the time. But if that offensive and defensive line. Wasn't holding Scattaboo, Jordan Tyson and Sam Leavitt, down. They're wouldn't be. No Scattaboo, Jordan Tyson, and Sam Leavitt.
You did well for the most part with the history leading up to this but I can’t get past the mispronunciation of Skattebo and Bourguet. At least get Skat’s name right. 😆
They had a split championship with Nebraska. Edit: I was wrong. But I swear they did when Jake the snake plumber was there. Maybe they just went undefeated and couldn’t play for natty. So bad bad my blunder.
ASU beat Nebraska in the 1975 Fiesta Bowl. Oklahoma was voted National Champions in the AP. ASU was voted #1 by the old UPI - United Press International. So pretty much a split National Champions. In 1996 ASU played Ohio State in Rose Bowl. Win and they would have been National Champions, but they lost and finished 4th in final polls.

I feel you on this heavy , as someone who usually says fuck the wildcats I kinda felt that way about you guys last year . Felt good too see our state do well
Skattebo has been a legitimate rb for a few years.
Who? Never heard of him
@@alejandroarvizu4112Cam Skattebo, who has the second most yards from scrimmage in the league behind only Ashton Jeanty. He runs hard, fast, and bullies opposing defenses. Well worth watching highlights of him
@alejandroarvizu4112 Bet, you're a new Colorado fan and don't even know the mascot....
Watch some of his high school highlights and how was he so overlooked, he's been bashing and running over fools ... Respect for Skattebo ....
@@garthbracamonteseen him play in high school He’s been running over dbs for many years now
Thanks for sending us some love, but I would have appreciated a bit more research, some things I noticed:
-We were not one of the bottom teams this year we were last place picked
-Jayden didn't have a bad season in 2020, we only played 4 games
-skipped the herm Edwards firing after emu midseason and the Shaun aguano interiem period
-Forgot that kenny coached Jordan Travis at FSU but remembered that he was at memphis?
-really should have provided a better explanation of the sam leavitt transfer and his overlook by Jonathan Smith who went from Oregon State to mich State and how Kenny was recruiting Sam leavitt at FSU as his top choice.
-Got the Florida schools mixed up
-The quarterback issue from last year was due to injuries, not lack of talent.
-Forgot leavitt breaking his ribs and missing the Cincinnati game
Something to note, outside of skattebo this team is YOUNG. We were supposed to be this good, next year.
You forgot to add Sam leavitt was hurt and did not dress for the Cincinnati game and was definitely the main reason they lost.
Great take! Glad we have true football knowledge in the Big12
ASU winning it all would be the funniest thing ever, and I'm gonna laugh at every person who said otherwise
Excellent job .
Something of note, Rashada transferred out after spring ball competing against Leavitt. One of our most trusted reporters said that Rashada left because he didn't think he would win the job
It would've been comical if the championship ended up ASU vs. Oregon just to laugh at the pac
Proud! ASU was very good football team back then 1990s. We lost huge oppotunities due to bad management and recuiting fails. Now, we know...and ready to fly. Defying gravity!!! Let's go!!
Once that scrub rb leaves y’all be be shit again enjoy getting blown out by Texas 🤣🤣🤣🤣😊
@@alejandroarvizu4112(what you don’t know is we have a transfer 5 star rb from USC who redshirted this year coming in next year)
@@djking1702 don’t care asu sucks
Any other coach could have easily turned Arizona State around, but chances are they would have jumped ship the moment a more “prestigious” program came calling (Jedd Fisch from rival Arizona for example). Being an alumnus himself, I can’t think of any coach more passionate and loyal about his team than Kenny Dillingham is. In retrospect, this might be seen as one of the greatest hires in college football history.
Kudos to ASU... They blended a Tasty Stew with just the right amount of Seasoning....
Interesting video, good jo! :)
Arizona State and Indiana are the stories in college football this year.
Coach Dillingham Magic
Bro asu jerseys are fire 😤🔥
Looking at there roster before the season I knew they were going to be good but wasn’t sure how far they could go.
Great video! but a small correction and clarification. Sam Leavitt was brought in before Rashada transferred, and the rumors out of spring practice were that Leavitt was going to get the starting job over Rashada, so he was more inclined to transfer.
Pac 12 didnt know what they had. Big 12 is perfect for ASU!!!
Should talk about the O-Line!
The video that is long overdue is finally here
I can forgive the name pronunciations from years past, but at this point not knowing how to pronounce Cam Skattebo (Skattaboo) is criminal, literally every media personality is saying he needs to be considered for the Heisman
Relax
Hiesman is a reach he is having a great individual season let's give him his props for that and leave it their
Go Devils!
🔱🏈🏀⚾🔱🏈🏀⚾🔱🏈🏀⚾🔱
Hope they at least make it to the semi finals. They’ve been a terrible team for years. Seeing them do this well is exciting!
Please do a video on Georgia tech’s insane rise in 2024 and future potential of the program as well as how much of an insane player Haynes king is
Also worth mentioning that Sam Leavitt didn’t play in the loss to Cincinnati. Sims got the start and he is pretty terrible
LETS GO DEVILS!!!
yo fire vid!
All the attention on Colorado and what we should have been looking at was Arizona State
You didn’t mention the Tillman year
1995
that rb is off the chain.. cam something or other. They could be a problem in the playoffs.
I don't know where you get your information but Sam played in 2 games at MSU. Started one game. His stats were 15-23
2/2 139 yards. 13 carries 67 yards.
Let’s Go Devils!!!!
You should do Kentucky They have had an Up And Down Last Few Years
LETSS GOO DEVILS
You did well for the most part with the history leading up to this but I can’t get past the mispronunciation of Skattebo and Bourguet. At least get Skat’s name right. 😆
I like the new logo asu got and there uniforms also are fire
The fork helmet is a ripoff of FSU seminoles. Classic sparky logo rules
@@rezmetalpodcasterclassic sparky or i dont want it . pt 42 helmet is cool too
If ASU hadn't done it I would have said it was impossible.
Arizona and Indiana should have been getting the hype and media attention iron Colorados been getting.
Arizona State. Please don't confuse us with that other school.
@@brentmmilner I cringed seeing that! 👊😈 #ForkEm
FYI- ASU played at Cincinnati without Sam Leavitt.
Win and they would have been National Champions, but they lost and finished 4th in final polls.
if they play TX in the bowl game, they will win...BUT if Clemson is the opponent, Clemson will win...my opinion..
Forks Up!!!
NIL has destroyed SDSU hoops. But it’s made me an FBS fan. Hopefully we move up with NDSU and the Montana schools. It’s time
The Pac-12 was the most competitive conference. Arguably more competitive than the SEC in the latter years - before the realignment.
Here comes “Scott fishers no knowledge - jumping on whatever story is hot at the moment video”
The 2021 team was probably the most talented team asu has had since the 90’s… saying rachaad white and ricky pearsall were the only talented player is insane
Who is a major draft steal on this Arizona State team?
That step down in conference competition paid off
Who outside of Oregon could beat ASU in the former Pac12 this year?
@@gregjross852The big12 is basically a G5
Lol. 1st year of the new big12 and big12 teams don't show up except Iowa state. Utah would have been a threat but offense was banged up all season. Would have been Oregon and ASU in the pac12 championship
How crazy is it that Dan Lanning already has a coaching tree, and it's more successful than the Belichek tree? 😂
Wait wat leavitt sent rashada into tha portal and he did play in his freshman year at michigan state
Lost the vegas bowl to Fresno State in 2018 and then lost to them again 29-0 in 2023
I get the feeling the "playoffs" will show who they really are. Iowa State wasn't as good as their record shows. IMO
Which bowl game matchup you are excited for and which ones you are not?
I think Army should have faced a top ranked Colorado team, instead of Marshall.
I think ASU is going to have a much easier time staying on top than Indiana and SMU, mainly because of how weak the Big 12 is right now
