Dude!!! This was literally the second Digicam I bought and the first boxed one. Got it in pristine like new condition. Love it to death! The power on sound I tell my kids it's a bird! Spits out such good tiff files.. reminds me of the older Olympus P&S film cameras! Amazing! Great video as always! Cheers!
Yeah I guess it does sound bird like 🤔…. I guess I just like the mental image of a small elf like creature playing me a pan flute every time I want to take a shot 🤣🤣 This camera is such a sleeper and people have been sleeping on it for way to long…. Makes it more special for us 👌 the BnW are stunning 👏
Awesome to see the Optio series getting some love! I own a Pentax Optio Mx4, used it for years. Been a Pentaxian for years! The macro mode and Pentax! Yeah! KP, Q, I-10 are the cams I am using now! Excellent photos!
Really nice. I'd even go as far to say that these are some of the best black and white photos I've seen from an early digital camera. I know people wax lyrical about the early Ricoh digital's black and whites but I much prefer this cleaner, softer look with beatiful controlled highlights. The colours are not to be sniffed at either. What a gem. Also, what's the song?

In regards to the song… A mate of mine has written and recorded an album that he’s not in a rush to release… It’s to good to keep in a dusty old draw, So I’ve been using it on my last few videos…. I hereby formally submit a video idea. Canon Powershot G compacts have an absolutely horrendous issue where the lens cover will actually scratch the front element because of how close they are to each other. G10 through G16 have this issue. Forums are littered with disgruntled G owners who complain about and dread getting scratches on their lenses. I first got onto this because I resell cameras and started to notice just how often the lenses on these models are scratched. I've gotten numerous G models with this issue and have seen many up for sale online with it. I also have a G11 and the lens is absolutely destroyed. It looks like some kind of super macro rock abortion took place with the previous owner. This left actual scuffs on the lens that have a bur you can feel. I'm not quite sure if my model was damaged from more than just the lens cover or what. Anyways, these marks can of course show up in the image if light catches them just right or if you purposefully pull manual focus so the scratches become visible. In this way, this defect gives these damaged cameras new creative life, but they otherwise can still produce clean images. This could be a cool topic to explore in a video. You have an absolutely ridiculous and inexcusable design flaw left unfixed for years, juxtaposition of the high quality and price point of these camera models with such a design oversight, enraged forum user deep dive and sample photos with a really badly scratched model. I am henceforth finished with my formal submission.
I just ordered this little gem today! I already own the MX4 (love it by the way) and thought this would make an excellent companion for it. Did you mention that it does in-camera multi-exposures? That sealed the deal for me!
Oh that’s awesome! Let me know what you think of it👍 it has multiple exposure modes, as in different ways to meter the exposure…. But I really have only touched the surface and there heaps more features buried in this beast 💪💪
NOT DISAPPOINTED! I love a sleeper camera, they’re the best kind! Also what Luke said- I also have a GRD IV and love the gritty b&w from it tho, but these ones are so creamy! Urge to ebay… rising… Also please, what’s that song? It sounds Beatles-y but Shazam and Siri can’t id it.
