The "there's no underwear in space" thing is taken out of context. George talked w/ Fisher about how, in space, your body expands, and having on tight underwear can potentially strangle you because it won't expand out with you. It wasn't just him saying "I don't want you to wear underwear." But also, as far as I know, Fisher never said she was uncomfortable from that talk and instead said something along the lines of how she wanted "strangled by her underwear" to be in her obituary no matter how she died.

We all have our flaws, George Lucas is no different. With that being said, I think he is definitely one of the best visionary filmmakers of all time. I'm a jazzaholic and didn't like the way Lucas stereotyped the genre in the galactic bar scenes while putting classical music above it. Lucas had issues about various cultural dialogues which became controversial.
People can complain about Lucas all they want, especially about the prequels. Truth is Lucas has probably done more to progress film in all aspects than anyone in the history of film. If it wasn't for him you'd still be watching films as technical as the original Planet of the Apes from the 70's from sound to special effects. You can tell that he's beyond burned out on the constant criticism of Star Wars since the prequels and that's justifiable. But his personal life with his fist ex wife, so what? There's nothing here that is that awful. People aren't perfect and when criticizing film reviewers and billion dollar corporations take up two spots out of five on someone's "sketchy things about them" list, I'd say they're doing all right for themselves.
Lucas is smarter than you realize. Does anyone know that the Star Wars movies are in reverse order from when the characters appear to how they behave? Also, the locations and consequences reverse order per episode. I'm sure Episode 8 will have the characters in reverse order where Luke appears early. The opening would take place on a spaceship since 7 opened on a planet. The final lightsaber duel will be a stalemate since it's the middle of the trilogy. Leia will return to the slave role since she wasn't one in Episode 7. This is why Darth Vader was in the middle of Rogue One because he was late as Darth Vader in Episode 3 and early in Episode 4. Also, it opened on a planet since III and IV open on spaceships and ends on a spaceship since III and IV end on planets. I realized this when Anakin arrived at 32 minutes of an indoor location in Episode 1 and I said to myself "Didn't Luke arrive at 16 minutes at an outdoor location in Episode 4?" 16X2= 32. Then I realized all the characters and scenarios were in reverse order which is why Jabba the Hut was in the directors cut of New Hope so he can arrive in Episode 1 and the creatures in the bleachers of the pod race are mostly the ones in the bars Obi-Wan and Luke go to in Episode 4. Darth Maul's death reverses Obi-Wan since he was killed by Darth Vader. I watched Episode 4 and realized I was right all along and the opening scene in Episode 1 reverses Episode 4. This is why Obi-Wan appears early in Episode 1 because he was late in 4. Vice versa with C-3PO. The opening of Episode 4 starts with Storm Troopers blasting characters with guns leading to an explosion of black smoke in which the smoke contrasts the white interior of the spaceship and Darth Vader emerges from the smoke. C-3PO appears in the scene. Leia gives a message for help to Obi-Wan. Later, C-3PO and R2-D2 leave the spaceship. Episode 1 opens with four characters approaching the spaceship (including Obi-Wan) where a female version of C-3PO greets them. An explosion occurs where white smoke from another room emerges contrasting the dark interiors of the spaceship. The Jedi's emerge from the smoke and do battle with robots. Queen Amidala gives a message for help. Then I watch Episode 5 to see if Lucas did this all along in the first trilogy and he did. The opening of Episode 5 takes place on planet Hoth instead of Darth Vader's spaceship. That's why I knew Han Solo would arrive early in 7 because he arrived early in 5, but late in 4 and 6. Notice we hear his voice before seeing his face in 5 and 7 which I predicted would happen before seeing Force Awakens. Obi-Wan appears early in Episode 5 and tells Luke to see Yoda instead of Leia needing to see Obi-Wan in the start of Episode 4. Yoda is a reverse of Obi-Wan since he's also a mentor to Luke, but Yoda's short, non-human and talks backwards. Obi-Wan is tall, human and talks forwards. The final lightsaber duel in Episode 5 is a stalemate since it's the middle of the trilogy. The end of 5 is inside a spaceship with the characters backs turned to the audience in tragedy. Episodes 4 and 6 open on Darth Vader's spaceship and ends on a planet in joy where the characters are facing the audience. There are other layers: Luke is first seen at an outdoor location wearing white clothes in Episode IV, then leaving a cave and entering daylight wearing grey in Episode V, then inside a cave wearing black in Episode VI. Episode 1 has the Gungan culture where the creatures are hairless, tall, thin and speak English. The Wookies in Episode III are tall, muscular, hairy and don't speak English. The Ewoks in Episode VI are short, fat, furry and don't speak English either. This symbolizes a beginning, middle and end structure of the creatures in relevance to the 1st, 3rd and 6th Episodes in the series. I discovered all these character reversals on my own and there's many more.
And if you turn off the sound and play Dark Side Of The Moon during ESB, Darth Vader says "Paul Is Dead... miss him, miss him" at the infamous "I am your Father" scene.... ;)

The "there's no underwear in space" thing is taken out of context. George talked w/ Fisher about how, in space, your body expands, and having on tight underwear can potentially strangle you because it won't expand out with you. It wasn't just him saying "I don't want you to wear underwear." But also, as far as I know, Fisher never said she was uncomfortable from that talk and instead said something along the lines of how she wanted "strangled by her underwear" to be in her obituary no matter how she died.

We all have our flaws, George Lucas is no different. With that being said, I think he is definitely one of the best visionary filmmakers of all time. His creative spirit is incredible and I think he’s a filmmaking genius. I also think he’s a very intelligent business man and can definitely handle his own business affairs with tenacity. At the end of the day, I think George Lucas is a very nice and down to earth man.

People can complain about Lucas all they want, especially about the prequels. Truth is Lucas has probably done more to progress film in all aspects than anyone in the history of film. If it wasn't for him you'd still be watching films as technical as the original Planet of the Apes from the 70's from sound to special effects. You can tell that he's beyond burned out on the constant criticism of Star Wars since the prequels and that's justifiable. But his personal life with his fist ex wife, so what? The racism though, come on, the guy's wife is African American. Lucas has also done an absurd amount of philanthropic work too especially to things no racist would do.
Lucas has every right to be disgusted with Disney. Like they did with Robin Williams they promise one thing then do something else. They turned Star Wars into social justice wars.

About the only "sketchy" thing here is how he treated Marcia Lucas, but perhaps understandably so if you just don't get along with someone you're married to. If indeed she was the heart and soul of the editing of the original trilogy than it does suck that she doesn't get more credit. However the rest of the stuff in here sounds like typical whining and moaning of PC feminazis and their modern revisionist horseshit. Is George perfect? Of course not. Nobody is but the stuff being complained about here is pretty weak.

They can still try again *with* George's story. And if I become a filmmaker, I will make that happen. Fans might be irritated but I think they'll change their mind when I put "BASED ON THE GEORGE LUCAS STORY" and if I can, there will be no Lucasfilm and ONLY Disney (Yes, as the production company and not just the distributors). At least it'll be easier to have NO Kathleen Kennedy. If possible, I might have Yoshitaka Amano as an illustrator for some of the posters and DVD/Blu-ray covers, the composer from Lord of the Rings, If it's good, it'll *save* Disney and prove haters that Star Wars can be good and successful again. There's nothing here that is that awful. People aren't perfect and when criticizing film reviewers and billion dollar corporations take up two spots out of five on someone's "sketchy things about them" list, I'd say they're doing all right for themselves.

Lucas is smarter than you realize. Does anyone know that the Star Wars movies are in reverse order from when the characters appear to how they behave? Also, the locations and consequences reverse order per episode. I'm sure Episode 8 will have the characters in reverse order where Luke appears early. The opening would take place on a spaceship since 7 opened on a planet. The final lightsaber duel will be a stalemate since it's the middle of the trilogy. Leia will return to the slave role since she wasn't one in Episode 7. This is why Darth Vader was in the middle of Rogue One because he was late as Darth Vader in Episode 3 and early in Episode 4. Also, it opened on a planet since III and IV open on spaceships and ends on a spaceship since III and IV end on planets.
I realized this when Anakin arrived at 32 minutes of an indoor location in Episode 1 and I said to myself "Didn't Luke arrive at 16 minutes at an outdoor location in Episode 4?" 16X2= 32. Then I realized all the characters and scenarios were in reverse order which is why Jabba the Hut was in the directors cut of New Hope so he can arrive in Episode 1 and the creatures in the bleachers of the pod race are mostly the ones in the bars Obi-Wan and Luke go to in Episode 4. Darth Maul's death reverses Obi-Wan since he was killed by Darth Vader. I watched Episode 4 and realized I was right all along and the opening scene in Episode 1 reverses Episode 4. This is why Obi-Wan appears early in Episode 1 because he was late in 4. Vice versa with C-3PO.
The opening of Episode 4 starts with Storm Troopers blasting characters with guns leading to an explosion of black smoke in which the smoke contrasts the white interior of the spaceship and Darth Vader emerges from the smoke. C-3PO appears in the scene. Leia gives a message for help to Obi-Wan. Later, C-3PO and R2-D2 leave the spaceship. Episode 1 opens with four characters approaching the spaceship (including Obi-Wan) where a female version of C-3PO greets them. An explosion occurs where white smoke from another room emerges contrasting the dark interiors of the spaceship. The Jedi's emerge from the smoke and do battle with robots. Queen Amidala gives a message for help.
Then I watch Episode 5 to see if Lucas did this all along in the first trilogy and he did. The opening of Episode 5 takes place on planet Hoth instead of Darth Vader's spaceship. That's why I knew Han Solo would arrive early in 7 because he arrived early in 5, but late in 4 and 6. Notice we hear his voice before seeing his face in 5 and 7 which I predicted would happen before seeing Force Awakens. Obi-Wan appears early in Episode 5 and tells Luke to see Yoda instead of Leia needing to see Obi-Wan in the start of Episode 4. Yoda is a reverse of Obi-Wan since he's also a mentor to Luke, but Yoda's short, non-human and talks backwards. Obi-Wan is tall, human and talks forwards. The final lightsaber duel in Episode 5 is a stalemate since it's the middle of the trilogy. The end of 5 is inside a spaceship with the characters backs turned to the audience in tragedy. Episodes 4 and 6 open on Darth Vader's spaceship and ends on a planet in joy where the characters are facing the audience.
There are other layers: Luke is first seen at an outdoor location wearing white clothes in Episode IV, then leaving a cave and entering daylight wearing grey in Episode V, then inside a cave wearing black in Episode VI. Episode 1 has the Gungan culture where the creatures are hairless, tall, thin and speak English. The Wookies in Episode III are tall, muscular, hairy and don't speak English. The Ewoks in Episode VI are short, fat, furry and don't speak English either. This symbolizes a beginning, middle and end structure of the creatures in relevance to the 1st, 3rd and 6th Episodes in the series. I discovered all these character reversals on my own and there's many more.
And if you turn off the sound and play Dark Side Of The Moon during ESB, Darth Vader says "Paul Is Dead... miss him, miss him" at the infamous "I am your Father" scene.... ;)
